A solid squad player in the premier league but in my opinion he is a player who is easily replaceable. It has never really bothered me whether he was in the side or on the bench. I've never felt he really adds a great deal to the starting 11.

How many new signings before deadline day?

Iheanacho is irreplaceable with such a short amount of time left in the transfer window. None of our other strikers offer what he does.
-
Players like Beckham are the rare exception... it's rare to find a player that can provide through balls or deliver crosses with the consistency and quality that he possessed. In the system Maresca plays it's important we have players who can beat an opponent with a feint or a bit of skill. Otherwise we will be just passing the ball around for the sake of it.
-
All i want to see from any of our wingers is the ability to take on their opponents in a 1v1 situation. If they can't manage that then they should be nowhere near the 1st team.
-
That would of been my only change too.
-
I agree! Any free kick they get they'll go long even if it's from inside their own half and they'll just send the big lads up. It'll be two completely different styles of football.
-
I can see Warnock telling his side to sit deep and keep things tight to invite lots of pressure but then he'll leave someone fast upfront and just hope that they can catch us on a counter attack.
-
Maresca has put out a strong side. That back 3/4 should be strong enough on paper to deal with anything Burton have to offer upfront. Gutted Souttar is not involved as i'm just not keen on Vestergaard at all. I'd rather us bring someone in that stick with him in the side.
-
That's my worry with our lack of pace in the back line. If we come up against a fast striker with a bit of strength we'll be screwed if we line up with that defence.
-
You make a good point. It is harsh to judge him based on a handful of games playing for a side that was relegated. I just think as a new addition i partly expected him to come in and make the others raise their games but it just never happened. I only say Doyle reads the game better as i watched him play last season on a few ocassions and he stood out each time. Doyle doesn't strike me as a natural left back either because as you say he looks slower than VK. Having Vestergaard and Doyle in a back 3 actually terrifies me
-
Personally never felt he'll be good enough for the first 11. He gives the ball away far too cheaply and lacks pace. Doyle reads the game much better and isn't afraid to play risky passes Good luck to him if he does leave.
-
Personally i think the extra time is a great idea. It'll benefit the best sides. I hate watching matches where sides score a flukey goal and go 1-0 up but then proceed to spend the rest of the match rolling around on the floor.
-
If Liverpool are genuinely interested then i can only imagine they want him as a Henderson replacement as they have similar attributes. It's important that we keep KDH. He'll score 10+ this season with his late runs into the box.
-
Really good debut and great to see a left sided defender that isn't afraid to play forward passes into dangerous areas. Only thing i worry about for the future is his lack of pace up against fast wingers.
-
I think he will but completely respect that you have a different opinion to me Not making excuses for him. He wasn't great today and gave the ball away cheaply a few times. As i said in my previous post he looked rusty. I just feel that once we have an established first 11 and the team has settled if he remains as our main striker then he'll score most weeks.
-
People writing Vardy off make me laugh. He played today after not featuring in either squad for the games against Spurs and Liverpool so naturally will have been rusty. He still had a couple of chances and could of been on the score sheet. Yes the system doesnt overly suit him but get a player aho is more creative in the side to replace Ndidi and you'll see Vardy get 20+ goals this season if he remains fit.
-
Frustrated me first half at times as he managed to forget the ball whilst dribbling or his touch wasn't quite up to it but the last 30 minutes Cov struggled to contain him. He drew 3 players out of position for our opener and then set up Dewsbury-hall for the equaliser with a lovely nut meg. A positive debut. If we can get him 1v1 and he has the confidence to take on his man he'll cause the opposition all sorts of problems.
-
I'm sure he'd be well out of our price range but would love it if we took Covs best player
-
Nothing he could've done for their goal. Played brilliant throughout.
-
The fact he can pass the ball out from the back should not cement his place in the starting 11. He is a liability. Palmer ghosted past him at times like he wasn't there. Same goes for Wright when he came on. If he comes up against a pacy striker with strength we are screwed.
-
Very clever player. His touch takes him away from opponents. Manages to create space for himself so intelligently. He will give the ball away on ocassions...if he didn't he'd be playing at the very highest level week in week out. Really impressed with him so far.
-
Big 3 points. Excellent play at times but also some cery sloppy play. I don't think Enzo will be very happy with the number of chances we gifted to Cov. His first team isn't complete yet. Add another winger who can run with the ball directly at defenders similar to how Mavididi did in the last 25 minutes and that will help us massively. When they took Hamer off it changed the game for us.
-
Too slow. Same as under Rodgers. The ball is moving too slow. Get JJ, Iheanacho and Choudhury on for Dewsbury-hall, McAteer and Vardy

Wake up Leicester ffs
