I think Ndidi is a classic example that if a player is willing and if they allow themselves to be coachable and if they apply themselves correctly, then a new role can await them in the team. This is all on him. If he shows that he is willing to graft and get into it then he can work on doing the Ricky P role on the left. Maresca has always said that he prefers a left footed person to play on the left side.. I mean, that in of itself leaves the door wide open for Luke. But has he got the desire to do that? He’d be basically admitting that the first half of the season was a mistake and he’ll be starting over again. lot of ifs and conjecture in that, but if he’s not up for it, then we simply have to sell.

agree it might work out better for him. If you win at 16, what else is there to achieve or look forward to? Could have done a bit of an Andy Ruiz and gone off the deep end at the first sight of fame and upsetting the odds..

Nacho replacement?

Maresca keeps talk8ng about wanting another left sided defender. it’s all about where our priorities are for the team and what needs strengthening the most I guess.. if Maresca needs a no.8 badly and a striker/ winger then it might be worth keeping hold of him until the summer to cover for a few games.. we get a solid offer, then sell, but bare in mind some of our finances will then have to be spent on a left sided defender… and Luke is near the end of his contract so we might not get his full values worth and tribunals never give a true players value…

I definitely would not sell him for 5m I think you are forgetting just how good he was before his injury. He’ll play prem football at some stage.. I mean, we already have a prem team after him.. he’s still a young lad he’ll get better and he’s at the right team to do that. and I really don’t understand you bringing in Schluup to your point.. I mean he’s played over 200 games for a prem team. he’s had a very good career. And if I’m not mistaken, isn’t Nacho being linked to prem teams too?

he’s not playing because Fatawu is in the form of his life, then again I’d say there’s not a single winger in the whole division who would get in ahead of him. and I stay behind the comment that it is absurd to take your stance and you must be blind to want to sell him for a ‘ decent’ fee. He’s exactly the sort of player we need to keep hold of.

Thats plenty of time for someone to catch some flak, and deservedly so.

I think he was bad enough for long enough to get some flak. We all know how good he can be, but that means nothing if he isnt performing. fortunately for us, he looks reborn.

I'd say he would be a solid option for a lower half champ team.. a team that have accepted their fate will be in the champ for the next 3-4 years. he'd do a great job for most champ teams but any team that gets promoted to the prem should probably look to replace him.. You almost have to be a world class keeper to stand out in the prem these days.

Definitely easier said than done. and everyone's journey is different and we progress/change at different rates and levels. Maybe just use those words as motivation on the really dark days and find your way through it at your own pace, i guess.

I don’t thank he’s a bad option for a championship club at all. He doesn’t fit the Maresca style too well, but that doesn’t make him a bad championship keeper. get him playing games and in the shop window and accept an offer in the summer for him,

there’s a possibility of either Nacho or Daka leaving. The likelihood is he would replace one of those..
