I always try to conclude incompetence, rather than bias, but they are testing me. The "handball" and non-offside are bad enough, but let's not forget, Harry Maguire had Patson Daka in a smelly cuddle in the box the first half. If it had been Faes on Fernandes, Bruno would have dropped to the floor, screamed and then jumped up to take the penalty. Instead, the ref looked directly at it, checked the badge, and shrugged.

To be honest, it doesn't help the situation if the ref announces that decision verbally only after all that delay while the lines are drawn. He could just as well draw the screen in the air, signal a free kick and get on with it. Verbal announcements might help the crowd understand the ref's decision with stuff like "my decision was that it was not a foul in the build up, but VAR is reviewing....Decision reviewed, not overturned, play on" etc. But they won't do that.
