I will do. She said they aren’t accepting anything that doesn’t start with a 6, so then I said there’s no negotiation at all then….she said well I’m not saying they won’t accept something in between. They also lied about another viewing on it over the weekend. Haha

Well he’s in post so it would be a bit weird not to, after the D Day debacle he’s now under massive pressure - pretty simple.
-
If I was worth £700m I could think of about 25,000 other things I’d rather do than run for another term.
-
The market is rubbish though - not much is shifting and with a GE coming up even more uncertain
-
Not sure I’d ever imagine I’d say this but I’ve gone with your advice @Raj the estate agent was a bit hostile and grumpy (forgot to mention they were our initial agents but we binned them off 2 weeks ago) I’m suspecting they will knock it back
-
If they knock it back, I think we'll sit tight and let them think on it - if 2 or 3 weeks go past and they have no further interest they might come back to us if the clock continues to tick. I dont really want to be going back and upping my bid by £5k a go.
-
Agree with this - haven’t ever been on holiday, certainly not in the past 5-10 years where I haven’t taken my laptop. It’s just normal - doesn’t mean you can’t relax at other points, I tend to get up early and do an hour when away to keep it ticking over. Rudkin and his team won’t be on shutdown mode as much as everyone wants to believe it.

Some advice. Sold our house today for c£30k less than we originally put it up for (went on high and reduced). We made an offer on a house for £630k 3 months ago, was rejected - stupid at the time as we hadn’t sold ours. fast fwd 3 months, said house which was on for offers over £650k is now reduced to offers over £600k, it’s no chain as they have emigrated to Australia. Not sure where to pitch our bid, I’m thinking £580k - they haven’t had any offers since ours hence the reduction in price but they will be cheesed off we have dropped our bid £50k from where it once was. Any advice appreciated

EVs are great from a company car pov - it’s a no brainier. Mine costs me £75k x 2% x 45% so about £675 a year on my tax code and plug it in at work for free. Probably agree with Tom, I’d be a bit more cautious if I was throwing my own money into it. Charging on the go issues are a myth, no problems at all if you can work an app and your credit card

Which bit, by the way?
-
Takes a lot more than that don’t worry. Something basic I think for dinner, got to save some cash as I’m going to be £2k a year worse off soon

Dancing round the handbags a bit like Keir does. The context of the clip was in relation to a woman in the audience who said due to long NHS waiting lists her relative died, which leads the presenter to ask if you had the money would you use private health. In an effort to align with the working man and to be relatable he tells us all the NHS runs through his DNA, tells us his Mrs works there again, just look at his flustered face while he blithers his answer. People would respect his honesty more - and understand he has the means to and 99% of people would do the same. Even the biggest Labour cuck can see that surely. FOR BALANCE - Rishi talked up his points and was talking across Keir and the presenter - which was wrong, get a stronger anchor next time.

I think @Raj it's about interesting debate - if you'd rather sling insults on a forum carry on, I'm beyond all that - you should be too at 50 odd. This is the hottest thread in General Chat for a while, beats what are you having for dinner anyway.

Fair enough he had to row back on some pledges, but then he must be prepared about what he IS going to do and deliver rather than shoot off about Liz Truss in response to most of the questions, that isn't leadership. Well I can't prove he is lying obviously, but I can form a view that he would rather use a private healthcare system than see one of his kids or wife die if they required treatment. 99% people would unless you are callous. It was in response to a question from the audience where a ladys cousin had died whilst being on a waiting list. If you had the choice of your spouse or kids dying instead of receiving treatment from the private healthcare system, what would you do?
-
Good shout not a bad restaurant that.

Almost as funny as Angela Rayner pledging to build a Cancer centre in Carlisle that already exists
-
Says anyone who doesn't have the ability to put forward valid points or arguments. I'll leave it there.
-
My point is it's a known fact how bad Liz Truss and BJ were for the tories - it's a given, but it shouldn't be used as a default response on what he will do with the future of the UK and his party if elected. He failed to answer pretty much every question, and then lied about his private healthcare views, to win votes. Anyone with half a brain can see through it.

Yorkie - not for girls
-
In my opinion I don’t think it is - I can’t think of one thing he landed - he has had years to prepare for this moment and managed to come across really poor, and had all the ammunition handed to him on the plate to nail the tories. Massive own goal on the private healthcare question - millionaire Labour leader would refuse to use the private healthcare system if a relative needed it? He either comes across as heartless or a liar. It would free up a space on the waiting list too For context I don’t think the TV debates will move the needle - Truss, Boris, Partygate and Covid have made people’s minds up already.
-
As a leader you need to be directive - all Starmer did was try and pull apart the Tories and mainly his reference points were Liz Truss! Which he knows is how the majority will vote off the back of what happened under the tories with Truss, Covid and Boris. “Can you explain why you will be the first government where pensioners will be taxed on state pension?” Silence……well Liz Truss crashed the economy bla bla bla. This approach will wear thin on even the most staunch left voter.
-
Starmer is so woolly - spot on, he deflects every question and his default response is still talking about Liz Truss crashing the economy, he should be able to make mince meat out of the tories given all their own goals under Boz and Truss but he can’t, hardly inspiring for the next 5 years and people will start to realise that.
