Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)
DJ Barry Hammond replied to lcfc_forever's topic in Transfer Talk
Reality is, if the fans want King Power out, as they have been so vocal on, that logically means reduced spending and working towards break even rather than underpinning ‘allowable losses.’ Perhaps King Power are doing the ground work towards an exit? -
Another potential factor is perhaps they were able to give him better assurances over game time. I reckon QPR will be a good move for him.

Harry Winks (gone to Cagliari, official)

The other thing is even if you do sign someone, you’ve got to get them in, settled, become part of the group and they don’t have 6-8 weeks worth of Marti coaching them how he wants them to play. That’s not to say we don’t get someone in if we think they’ll work… but certainly in midfield I’d want to see someone come in before anyone went out. -
This is the key part that’s missing from the pieces of Marti’s puzzle. Present a significant arial threat in the box and defences then have to defend against the cross - stretching a defence and giving you more gaps in and around the penalty area for your clever players like Bilal who can find pockets of space. Ayew did the other bit of receiving from back to front and laying off to start moves well enough - but he’s never going to be a significant box threat against 2/3 centrehalfs.

They were clearly “boooos.” The ‘collective’ opinion on him in here helps identify that.

I accused you of hyperbole not delusion @Dames

Delusion and hyperbole.

That’ll be because they have a 19 year old Portuguese forward called… Bruno Fernandes. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bruno-fernandes/leistungsdaten/spieler/1099501

Marti Cifuentes appointed new manager
DJ Barry Hammond replied to Tuna's topic in Leicester City Forum
Has no-one spotted a couple of impressive things from today? 1.) Set-pieces (Ayew aside) These were decent today. More than decent, we scored from two and created chances from others. 2.) We were getting players in the box when we got the ball wide - 3’s and 4’s waiting for the ball in - and quite often that included one of our fullbacks. As a base to build a season on these are good signs. -

And there’s a cup game on Tuesday! Some people 😣 -
It’s not through balls really - it’s the pass that cuts out the midfield into the front man that takes the oppositions press/midfield out of the game. He’s so good at it - and it changes the tempo of our play because we bypass the midfield pivots.
-
Can I tick these two off now?
-
Vestergaard’s range and consistency of pass is so much better than any of our other defenders. He’s also not a bad defender either, it’s of course his pace that’s an issue. If you want a defender to play the quarterback role like Marti does, I can understand why he’s gone with Jannik.
-
I think some fans need to take a look at themselves and question “are we the entitled ones?” Marti has been very clear during his pre-season social media it’s a fresh start for everyone and he’s clearly worked hard to get the players in a positive frame of my mind and on board for the season ahead. Now I know Faes isn’t a favourite on these boards, but why “booo!” before he’s had a chance to do anything this season? Mean, it was evidently the right change - Faes is more mobile and better with his feet the Okoli and it allowed us to press right up the pitch. And what I don’t get - there’s so many on here saying “play the youngsters” yet, if as a fan base you’re creating a difficult atmosphere that’s not going to help them is it?
-
Did we score from a set piece… twice?
-
😂😂😂 Fair play Wout! Has every right to give it the big un.
-
Beat me to it.
-
That’s very harsh. Bannan got there first and was arguably in reasonable control. Wink’s bought that.
-
I don’t think it’s been that bad, just needs a bit more co-ordination between runners in the final third. A more dominant and powerful striker would also be beneficial because we get the ball into wide areas (and numbers in the box).
-
Good job Bilal didn’t score that - we don’t want highlight reel goals until the windows closed! 😂
-
That’s more like it… now score as the Wednesday fans take their seats.

Mads Hermansen sold to West Ham - Official

Laying it on a bit thick Mads. Anyone would think he’s delighted to have escaped us 😒 -
Wout to Monaco (loan with ~€8m option, official)
DJ Barry Hammond replied to CloudFox's topic in Transfer Talk
Watching during the pre-season made me realise he’s a frizzy head and shoulders above our other defenders, with Nelson a little behind in second. He’s also very suited to a system that likes to employ an aggressive press. -
