Errr, would this be the same Tony Blair who appointed Gordon Brown Chancellor in every one of his Cabinets? Sajid hasn’t lasted three months 😄
-
Don’t disagree with your conclusion, but he’s played four times since the 9-0 including this week at Palace.

It was to Birmingham City wasn’t it?

😄😄😄 Very happy to admit that I got this spectacularly and ridiculously wrong. No justification but I based my thoughts on watching the Liverpool documentary where he came over very poorly in my opinion. I very much hope that I continue to be outrageously misguided as his recruitment buddy Lee Congerton proves himself to be a genius in the transfer market. 😄

Gary Bailey?

I don’t disagree with the criticism of Puel, but when piling in to him for his faults, I think we should remember that he brought two magnificent players to the Club in Pereira and Tielemans.
-
All of our last four managers had an excellent early run of results. I’m much happier with Rodgers than Puel, but I think we need to see how things pan out.

I know it doesn’t make much difference but it was actually a net spend of £20 million because we had to give Hull £9 million.

I read your post yesterday and didn’t reply because I’ve never experienced what you and many similar beautiful people on this thread who replied to you have been through. But you’ve been on my mind and I’ve been thinking of you and hoping that moment by moment you are feeling just a little better than before you had the tremendous courage and strength to share what you are going through on this thread. My thoughts and very best wishes are with you. Take care and go gently and go well.

Well you’re completely correct, there’s absolutely no reason why 30,000 seated supporters shouldn’t sing in unison for 90 minutes and create a magnificent stadium atmosphere in support of their team. But they don’t. There are areas where people gather and sing, areas where people get involved occasionally, and areas where people sit in silence observing the game. I have nothing against any of them. You can watch football the way you want as far as I’m concerned so no complaints from me. However for those who do want to support their football team with encouraging songs and chants it makes sense to have a section which brings them together. It would only be part of the ground so you and your son will not be inconvenienced I’m pleased to say. The second reason I would like to see safe standing has nothing to do with atmosphere. Quite simply I prefer to stand at football matches and would like the option to do so at Leicester as others have the option to sit. I watch a lot of non league football and I have the opportunity to stand or sit, and never once have I chosen the latter. For both reasons, Safe standing makes perfect sense to me.

I think one of the biggest problems is that many confuse reintroducing terracing with safe standing. I mentioned in another thread that I was in SK4 at Filbert Street when we played Burnley having been promoted. They let too many in and I could barely breathe let alone put my feet on the floor. I’ve never been so pleased for a game to end (I couldn’t see a thing either) and when the Hillsborough disaster happened I realise how close we came to a similar tragedy. In spite of this experience, I am a massive supporter of safe standing. It is completely different and would not result in similar tragedies at all. I believe it would have a positive impact on stadium atmosphere which is much needed in my opinion.

Free LCFC Caps For Supporters Travelling To Chelsea!

I’ll join you in your retirement 😄 I’ve enjoyed the conversation and I think it has been graceful. There’s been no personal abuse, just a sharing of differing opinions and I thank you for that. Please don’t give up your support. We always have our most sharp conversations with those we have most in common with. I cant make Chelsea as I’m working, but at Sheffield United and Bournemouth I’ll be singing my heart with you and being part of the atmosphere and support we both want for our club. -

Maybe not hundreds in a row but I’ve seen plenty of Holland supporters wearing orange caps and all sorts of other dodgy gear come to that. -

So by that logic, you think that Dutch supporters wearing orange caps look embarrassing because a cap doesn’t speak of tradition, history or supporting a football team? The orange is fine, it’s not the colour, it’s the cap you have an issue with, yeah? -

Of course I do. That’s not really my point. It’s what we’re playing in on Sunday isn’t it. Would you be happy then if blue caps were given out this Sunday? -

Absolutely this. There seems to be a particular type of football supporter who appear to be extraordinarily bothered about what is said about them on social media after the game by other supporters. As you say it’s sometimes difficult to know where the hipster lines are drawn. If the majority wore the caps we would create a sea of pink in the away end, which is the colour kit we are playing in, but that will be mocked on social media and we will be an embarrassment, however when Holland fans turn up head to toe in orange it’s great. -
Bloody hell, that’s a big drop down the pyramid 😄

That’s a good point and very true, but I think we’re more likely to lose that reputation with increasing silence and booing our substitutes on than we are being gifted a cap away at Chelsea. -

Fair enough, but there’s very little respect amongst opposing football fans in England. They spend most of their time slagging each other off. Best not to worry what other people think in my opinion. -
And boxing day fixtures with cigar smoke for me.

I genuinely couldn’t give a shit. I’ll be watching the game so they can turn up in old gold mankinis if they want and it won’t make a blind bit of difference to me. Anyway, why do people care so much about what other people think anyway? its a bit strange because when Dutch supporters turn up at world cups completely bedecked in orange or Dortmund create a wall of yellow everyone thinks it’s great.
