  1. A much needed addition. 22 years on from moving in and it still doesn't feel like we are fully comfortable there. The early years of struggle and empty seats, the identikit nature and the original Bowl name all set things back and it has taken a while to shake it off.
  2. Portsmouth were going to do similar with Fratton Park.
  3. They'd have put buses on for fans from the centre and train station, you'd have thought?
  4. How did Gary Neville not know that free-kicks for offside are taken from where the player touched the ball? Been around for a couple of years now.
  5. Congratulations to Somerset, hope they do well in the final. We gave another good account of ourselves (7 wins in 10) and still have much to play for. This competition has been really good. The crowds have been respectable, plenty of outgrounds used too. Well done to all involved for making it so.
  6. Don't they still call it the Shed?
  7. Judasbury-Ballbag amirite lads?
  8. Enzo has about a hundred players to choose from. Can't select them all.
  9. As seen with Sheffield United
  10. The walkout now is nothing memorable; walking out together to line up and shake hands. You are missing nothing.
  11. I think many of this squad are popular with the fans. Vardy is the eternal hero. Ricardo is loved. Winks, Mavididi, Fatawu and Hermansen have made a great impression in the last year. Justin is well liked. We have a few unpopular players but I reckon the bond between players and fans has improved hugely from the relegation season. But they are being handicapped by the poor running of the club. Points deductions imminent and a struggle to improve the squad quality. And as likeable as they are, it is difficult to sit and applaud a team losing regularly (as I anticipate). Try as you might, you can't separate it.
  12. I know as soon as the game starts I will be fully involved but we all know making a racket isn't going to make a difference.
  13. Nothing wrong with it. This place often gets mocked as a den of hysteria and overreaction but there are plenty of nuanced, fair arguments too.
  14. Gabriel Clarke presenting Football League highlights on ITV is very reassuring for us millennials who believe football should have stayed in 1997 forever.
  15. I get why they provide it for the kids (although several generations coped without over a hundred years) but grown adults wanting folded card to make noise is bewildering.
  16. I'm glad they've highlighted the excitement only a new ticket office can provide.
  17. I agree but I don't know how practical it is to book a fairly long distance coach at 36 hours notice. Booking before then cancelling isn't a great look either had we lost. This is on the ECB, plain and simple.
  18. The buzz around Ipswich is reminiscent of us ten years ago against Everton.
  19. Friends of Grace Road used to run coaches, didn't they? It is probably too short notice.
  20. It weakens a light squad even further. And "yeah, we'll just get someone else in" has worked really well this week hasn't it?
  21. Taunton is a great place for a semi final, proper cricket crowd.
  22. A shame that a club of our size is being written off like this before we start and it is nowhere near an outlandish claim. I think we accept we could be in a battle but with as good a chance as any of surviving. This is dreadful.
  23. The luck is running out. The excellent work getting a very good squad together over a decade has gone. Two years ago they had a squad strong enough to survive if they sacked the failing manager with enough time to find a suitable replacement. They failed spectacularly. Last season we had a one-off, top set of players in the Championship. It won't happen again. We are likely to need a lot more points than 18th with a squad weaker than last season. I think we are set for a mediocre spell outside the top flight after this year. Grim.
  24. Good job he goes quietly about his business
  25. He'll be a handy distraction for those above him who continue to run the club dreadfully on and off the pitch.
