  1. To be fair, @Gamble92 did not specifically say that it was a Leicester page he was referring to…
  2. As others have said, if we were signing him as a CB and it meant that Faes or Vestergaard were leaving, I could just about live with it. But if we were signing him as a left back I’d be very concerned.
  3. Utter nonsense. If that was the case he wouldn’t have played on Saturday.
  4. There were also plenty of fans who defended him and expressed sympathy with his situation as a new father. It provoked a lot of debate, with different opinions expressed. If he’s decided that because some supporters took RVN’s side he has the right to disrespect the entire fanbase, he’s a petulant child. It’s a shame because if he swallowed his pride and showed a bit more humility, most fans would be happy to get behind him again. But it seems that is beyond him. A tricky situation for Marti to handle if we can’t sell him
  5. Don’t do it, mate - stevostadium will get very cross and tell you to grow up!
  6. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/other/transfer-news-sunderland-linked-with-shock-swoop-for-leicester-city-talent/ar-AA1KIQBT?ocid=BingNewsSerp He'll have a job driving up there and back every day from Hertfordshire....
  7. Why drop Fatawu? He wasn’t effective on Saturday but he was one of the few who genuinely tried. You’ve included Ayew, who was awful.
  8. This debate always comes down to the same thing: on the one hand, fans have every right to be unhappy when players don’t look like they’re trying; on the other hand, booing the team during the game never helps to improve performances - it only makes things worse. The irony is that both the team and the fans want the same thing, and would be much happier if there was unity between them. But when a relationship breaks down like this, it requires one side to do something to change the dynamic for to improve, even if they believe they’re not the ones to blame. If neither side will budge, the misery and toxicity just continues.
  9. Therein lies half the problem.
  10. And he’s one of the more positive characters in the squad, so he’s likely being very diplomatic with his language. God only knows what they’re saying about us behind closed doors.
  11. BEK’s book value means it will only be worth selling him for £30m+. Any lower than that and it will hardly give Marti any funds for new players.
  12. The difference being that we were actively looking to sell Hermansen and so were vulnerable to such tactics. I don’t think it will work with El Khannouss.
  13. I don’t think it’s performative. People are depressed about the state of the club and deeply anxious about the future, and there’s no obvious solution. We have arrived at a situation in which both the squad and the fanbase are completely toxic, united only in their mutual loathing of each other. The squad blames it on the fans for being negative and not supporting them, and the fans blame it on the squad for not trying. Neither side seems able to change anything. It’s a vicious death spiral and nobody at the club seems to know what to do about it.
  14. Vardy still doesn’t have a club…🤔
  15. So you DO have a detailed knowledge of the club’s and KP’s finances, but you cannot be bothered to share them with us lesser mortals. Got it
  16. If you were surprised about him being on the bench on Wednesday, how do you feel about him being allowed to start today?
  17. There’s no indication of him agitating for a move and I don’t think he will. If a top club came in for him, he might. But Leeds or Palace? Nah.
  18. Being unhappy at a club is not the same as being a prima donna. Very different things. I suspect his spat with RVN created a very distorted impression of him and the harsh criticism from sections of our fanbase that followed has hurt him. You might argue that he should just get over it and show more enthusiasm when we score, but it doesn’t always work like that. I hope he stays and regains his enthusiasm because we don’t have anybody else who can do what he does and we would struggle to replace him.
  19. There was nothing stopping a club chancing their arm with a lowball offer before the release clause expired. Our response to that offer would have given them useful information on how stubborn we’re likely to be with our valuation of BEK, which in turn would have told them whether it was worth triggering the release clause. I agree with you that no club is likely to pay £30m for him, but I also think we won’t sell him for less. Which will mean he stays.
  20. I think it’s highly likely that when Winks joined he was told he could commute from home, then RVN came in and tried to change the agreement at the precise moment Winks needed to be at home more because his wife has just given birth. Then to make matters worse, somebody at the club deliberately leaked what should have been a private matter to the press. Most people would be pretty pissed off if their employer behaved like that. His reaction was very normal.
  21. You seriously want Nelson to start after how he played on Wednesday?
  22. What proof do you have of this?
  23. Then why did he play on Wednesday?
