Where?! I so want this to be true but I can’t find anything….
-
The idea that the Championship is more 'brutal' than any other league is a myth. It will be much easier for them to learn their trade their than in the PL, which is far less forgiving. And I don't think anybody is advocating for Monga and Evans to play if there are better players in their positions - however, if either or both of them are ready for first team football, we should not hesitate to include them.
-
Every time I hear Sean Dyche speak it reinforces my view that I don't want him anywhere near our football club.

This is almost certainly the reason. Sunday is his big send-off. He's probably decided he wants to go out to a standing ovation at the KP - playing away at Bournemouth the following week would likely be a bit of a damp lobster.

It was cramp.

ESR’s name makes him sound posh but he speaks like the young lads who used to hang around in groups outside Stockwell tube station when I lived in the area a few years ago.
-
I suspect you overestimate Rudkin’s power. He has a say, but he doesn’t decide.
-
Just because something is gathering momentum as a rumour, that doesn't mean it's gathering momentum in reality. These stories snowball as different media outlets pick them up and more people share them on social media, etc. I'd be very surprised if the club has even come close to making a decision on the managerial situation yet.
-
Lampard might actually turn out to be a decent manager - his record has been blemished by some odd choices he's made, such as agreeing to manage Chelsea (the 2nd time) and Everton when they were both basket cases. However I'm happy to watch his progress from afar - it would be too much of a risk for us.
-
If it had been announced that he's leaving I'm sure he would get some recognition. But as things stand he is under contract and could still be with us next year, so nobody will know whether we're actually bidding him farewell or not.
-
I clearly remember the collective wailing and gnashing of teeth on here when we couldn't tie him down to a new contract. We felt we were missing out on the next Yaya Touré. He's now usually sub - albeit one who gets regular minutes - for Moreirense, who are 11th in Primeira Liga. Not a bad way to make a living, but way below the level we expected.

A fair number of season ticket holders, too.

This is why appointing a new Director of Football is more important than the managerial appointment. We need a vision for the future that is not dependent on whoever happens to be our manager at a particular time. Only when we are clear about that vision should be be appointing the next manager. It probably won't happen like this, but it should.

His age has nothing to do with why people are calling him a dinosaur.

No doubt RVN would stay if given the choice. The fact that the club is still avoiding talking to him about next season means one of two things: 1) They’ve decided to replace him but haven’t told him yet; or 2) They’ve haven’t made a decision yet. If it’s the latter and we beat Ipswich next week and then put in a decent performance against Bournemouth, the club might just give him a another stab at it next season - especially if we’re cutting it fine again with PSR, which it sounds like we may be.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Rudkin advocates for his friend Dyche, as the TalkSport article suggests. So it will likely come down to how much sway Rudkin has over Top, who you can't imagine would ordinarily go for a manager like Dyche. The best case scenario is that they go for somebody who is neither a possession-obsessed purist like Martin nor a tactical dinosaur like Dyche, but rather a manager who is tactically intelligent and flexible, and is willing to change his approach if things aren't working.
-
There have been one or two posters on here claiming that Monga to Man City was a 'done deal' months ago and that anybody hoping he might stay was deluded. RVN's comments yesterday would appear to suggest otherwise, but I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.
-
Perfectly put.
-
To be fair it would be very fitting if he scored the winner to get to 200 goals in his 500th game, celebrated by pretending to drive a tractor towards the corner where the Ipswich fans are, got a second yellow card for his trouble and left the pitch to a raucous standing ovation.

Forest 2-2 LCFC, post-match thread

Somebody needs to tell him. I’m listening to it now and it’s doing me ‘ead in 😡 -
Would people be pleased with a win today and one next week if it persuaded the owners to stick with RVN? 🤔

I work with an Everton season ticket holder. The way he describes Dyche’s preferred style of football, and his obsession with playing ageing workhorses while sidelining promising young players, is the stuff of nightmares. Be very afraid.

Spot on. But it would be just like us to pick up a manager on a downward trajectory and let him take us down with him.
