  1. I don't think we're in the position to play with 10 men next season
  2. Genius, I think all the clubs should pair up and do this. We sign a couple of players from Southampton for £30 million and they sign a couple of our unknowns for £30 million. Basically force the Premier league to accept that their rules are silly. I'm not against having teams run sustainably, but the current system is just so stupid and I don't really understand how they didn't envisage this happening down the road.
  3. Against all but the very best teams, I'd genuinely look at going a bit like we set up 19/20 and 20/21 under Rodgers. Pickford Walker Stones Guehi Saka Rice Palmer/Eze Foden Bellingham Bowen/Gordon Kane
  4. Oh he absolutely is. Fairly confident that Dyche would have been intelligent enough to realise he was playing against a snail like defence and maybe sliding ball in behind it would be a shout.
  5. Hope this is the last tournament wasted by this absolute clown of a manager. So frustrating seeing these players wasted in a system that'd have Sean Dyche and Gary Megson hard as a rock.
  6. At least we can still argue about who the broken clock is
  7. **** me. Me and Babs are aligned in our thinking. The end is nigh!
  8. Pretty happy - considering the majority of this board was rimming Rodgers well past the point of no return I'm quite happy to be in the minority
  9. I'm just pointing out what fans have said about him. I also pointed out he's known for being tactically flexible - i'm sure he'll be asked to play attacking possession based football with us and see no reason why he can't carry it out. Overall optimistic and very aware of the fact he worked for a lunatic at his previous job.
  10. A fair point. Funnily enough they picked up 16 pts from their next possible 51, which isn't vastly different. Then 6 from the last 4. I guess it depends how much control he's had over the signings and if he's had/or wanted the chance to vet personalities. To me it seems like he probably had very little say in signings and has been tasked with working what he has - history could well say I was being kind. Pros for me are, he seems like a decent bloke and has a track record of working with young players. I think that's something that'll come in handy for us if we want to turn the financial shape of the club around. Can be tactically flexible and work with players he had rather than ramming a style down his squads throat. Main negatives seem to be his style of football is defensive and risk averse and that he plays the victim card. I can't stand either of these two things, so I'm hoping at a new club he loses those traits (if he has them). You'd assume he will be hired and tasked to play a possession based style of football while developing young talent to help improve our standing and to sell for profit. Almost a bit like Puel, but he's got a head start of not having a team that's been playing Rugby for 2/3 seasons.
  11. Interested to see how Cooper gets on. I like his desire to develop youth players. Hard to judge his football too much as at Forest he got promoted when his team was touted to be closer to the relegation places and then he's gone into a new league and his mental chairman has said "here's 30 new players from all over, make it work"
  12. Ahh that makes sense then, Nike still haven't sorted out the technology but are the official ball of the Premier League. Well it will be more improved, but you just know that the refs are gonna somehow manage to turn picking when a ball was kicked into a massive drama
  13. The phrase "bike nonce" does tickle me
  14. The semi-automated offside tech is ace. I'd be delighted next season if we just had that and goal line tech in use. Also they should introduce the rule of only captains being able to talk to the ref unless the ref addresses a player.
  15. Just do away with letting clubs amortise costs and it's not a problem. If you buy a player for £30m then 30 goes on the books in the negative column. If you then sell that player for £25m then £25 goes on the book in the plus column Easy
  16. Imagine, I'd be buzzing to see his white knight come in to protect him after a 10-0 loss "You can't blame him for the starting eleven or the tactics - hundreds of people would have had a say in that"
  17. Typical performance under Southgate. Won by virtue of having better players. Made a much poorer team look better than they are.
  18. Was watching it with my cousin and we expected 118-109 or something like that Similarly lethargic performance from Dan Azeez. Really disappointing from 2 south Londoners on home territory. At least chamerlain looked somewhat interested, although it ended in defeat for him as well. I need Whittaker in with a known force now as well haha. I want to like him, but I can only like him and enjoy the show boating as long as he's backing it up against quality opponents.
  19. Didn't manage to stay up for that one, but watched the abomination that was CBS v Riakporhe Hopefully his next opponent actually wants to fight because Riakporhe seemed to be only interested in hugging
  20. Been told it will almost certainly be Everton away. Make of that what you will
  21. Hoping Kian can talk Kyle Jardine into coming back. He was absolutely shafted by Stevo, but with us at a lower level and his boyhood club you'd hope he'd fancy it. That being said, the lad could probably be a bagsman 1 or 2 levels higher if he fancies it.
  22. He was absolutely awful
  23. If the Premier League tried introduced it here I think it'd be met the same as the super league announcements were met.
  24. P*ss off, you already had our pants down with Perez! You can't sell us more tat for 20-30 million You didn't even take Hamza off us when for all the world it looked like you were going to. Considering we're obsessed with trying to copy Man City, it makes total sense for us to be strongly linked with a CM that's technically limited and slow on the ball
