Look forward to the inevitable injuries because the ref thinks he's some mad genius for not booking players that deserve to be booked

Naturally Hirst gets an assist with 10 seconds of my post
-
3rd time lucky for Broadhead

Really no regrets selling Hirst though on this viewing

If Ipswich could finish they'd be out of sight. These are great chances theyre creating

This is Ipswich team are good arent they. Absolutely pile the bodies forwards. Its easy to forget that your team is allowed to try and score in the first 30 mins First time I've seen them, play nice stuff and look to be more progressive than us quickly. McKenna obviously preferring creating more attacks and happy to take the risk of conceding more chances So many men in the box and committed forwards when attacking Saying all this, id be livid as a Norwich fan. They've turned up with absolutely no ambition to attack first half

We can only hope. We paid money for him and chelsea paid £35 million for drinkwater. You've got to think someone would be stupid enough to pay for a defender who's contract is up in 6 months and proven himself to be poor to average at Prem level.

I like how well he caught the ball with his shot that ended up with Ricardo's goal. Good technique on what I assumed was his weaker (left) foot.

Was absolutely dying at the ref laying in a hospital bed with a neck brace on It's a terrible incident, there's absolutely no need to lob a comedy neck brace in and proper ham it up. Took the severity of incident away for me after I saw that.

Good to see the players clapping off the 18 people that stayed
-
Pretty sure thats because Millwall sat with 10 on the edge of their box and just launched it back to the defence if they did get a foot on the ball. Imagine they actually decide to try and participate in the game again soon
-
Tbf if the ref had this position he'd have probably got it right From the reverse I can 100% see how that looks like he's got a knick on the ball
-
I'm surprised you consider that a smart move considering our very recent past

I was expecting some wild leg breaker from what I'd read on here from people Seeing it I dont see it being anymore than a yellow. Hes gone in with one foot and the studs are down. Movement of his trailing leg looks perfectly natural. Based on his movements and shifting body weight Mistimed and deserving a yellow but personally feel that itd be a joke to show a red for that. Feel like its a case of Romero's reputation guiding peoples opinion to a red.

Well it's all subjective I suppose. There's gotta be someone out there that wants to be the meat in a Gary Megson/Steve Cooper sandwich.

I agree, results keep managers in a job. I don't see this being a successful way of playing if we go up. I hope his comments were a bit of naivety and he realises that he can't just cling onto one style if results start faltering. I find Enzo incredibly likeable so giving him every chance in my mind. I never really look at things as they are now, I'm always looking a year or two ahead. It's easy to have the blinkers on now if you're short-termist, "we're top of the league", "stop worrying", "just enjoy it". I am the type of person that exclusively signs 16-20 year old on football manager and sees someone as part of the old guard when they hit 24/25 In all seriousness though, without an incredible transfer window next summer I struggle to see how this system doesn't see us get routinely punished by Premier League attacks. This system struggled to create good chances against weaker opposition and still gives up good opportunities that better teams will turn into shots and goals. It's very much like we're having a beautiful drive in the sun by the beach and I feel like one of the few worried about this extremely steep cliff we appear to be approaching All I want to hear is "this feels like the safest approach to going up, next season we may need to tweak things when we play better teams than ourselves". He's a lovely beautiful guy, I don't want him getting that Claude Puel treatment.

Gotta say, that's not great reading. Its like having a sexy Gary Megson. Obsessed with not conceding and if we get a goal than thats a bonus I'm 99% sure the concensus will be Enzo out before Jan 2025 if he really isn't willing to adapt his methodology. I just dont see how his vision of football can be successful when youre one of the weaker teams in a division.

Development/Youth Squads 2023/2024 Thread - U18/U21

There number 11 has done fantastically for that goal. -
Centre backs really don't need any rest, they spend 80+ minutes of the game walking or in a light jog. I think the way we play really does lend itself to players being able to play for 90 minutes twice a week, with 5 subs it's easy to rotate plenty in game if needed. If there's one major benefit of our style, it's that the players definitely won't be sapped of energy. KDH and Winks' sprint at the end of the WBA game really confirm that.

I did say to my dad when we were watching it that you just know Riyad would have left the defender on his arse and curled one far corner. Mavididi isn't much of a footballer in terms of end product, but he does bring a lot in his speed and directness. One to improve on if we go up, but a useful player at this level. Always good to be able to bring pace off the bench as well should we find a better alternative.

I wish they'd do away with drawing teams from the same league up to the third round. For the majority of teams the cups are about facing a different team, it's absolutely soul destroying drawing a team from the same league. It would of course have to be computerised because the draw would be chaos if they tried to do it manually with balls haha

When Kel first played the pass, I tutted and looked to the ceiling, thinking he'd overhit it to a covering defender who was surely off screen. I didn't even celebrate at first as I was so in disbelief at what happened
-
It's a bit like Youri, neither of them are live wires on the pitch, even when things are good. Just look at their celebrations when they've scored massive goals, always pretty calm. It's only when form drops that some people seem to think they've had a personality transplant, like they were haring about the pitch before.
