  1. Proper Nathan Jones levels of milking it wasn't it
  2. It must be a low bar
  3. Well there goes all my credibility
  4. If they want to make some new arbitrary rules on then that's fine, do it in the off season and make it clear what the new rules are. Can imagine that document would be about 50 pages long with all the "if this scenario happens...then do this" But will people need to stop whinging about a bad precedent being set from this decision, because it's following a precedent that has been set for ages.
  5. From what I've read it was barely playable from half time.
  6. What's your cut off of acceptable time? haha Here's some where a team was trailing and down a man. Blackpool vs Huddersfield Town – April 2015 (Championship) Abandoned at half-time (Blackpool 0–2 Huddersfield, Blackpool down to 10 men). Replay ordered from 0–0, full 90 minutes. Torquay United vs Portsmouth – August 2013 (League Cup, 1st Round) Abandoned in the 55th minute (Torquay 1–0 up, Portsmouth down to 10 men after a red). Replay ordered from 0–0, full 90 minutes. Charlton vs Doncaster – December 2011 (League One) Abandoned in the 54th minute due to floodlight failure (Charlton 1–0 up, Doncaster with a red card). Replay ordered from 0–0, full 90 minutes. Barnsley v Plymouth Argyle, November 24, 2009 (Championship) is another good case. Situation: Plymouth were leading 4–1 at Oakwell. Barnsley had been reduced to 10 men after Iain Hume was sent off (straight red). Heavy rain caused the pitch to become waterlogged. The referee abandoned the game in the 58th minute. Solution: As per EFL rules, the match was ordered to be replayed in full, starting 0–0, with both teams back to 11 players. The rearranged fixture was played in March 2010 and finished Barnsley 0–0 Plymouth.
  7. Find it mad that seemingly 99% of people with an Internet connection have never seen a game abandoned before
  8. 99 is insane. On the same day Sunderland played 60 mins with 10 men and came from 1 0 down to draw with Villa. The sporting thing to do is for Ipswich to give them a 1 0 lead. But a full replay is the fairest solution. The suggestions of a 10 minute are ludicrous haha
  9. Blackburn had taken off a forward for a defender and a midfielder off for a defender in the 70th minute. People talking about this like it was 5-0
  10. Literally been the case for any abandoned game ever, I don't really see the issue. Hopefully Ipswich do the sporting thing and give them a goal head start, but replaying the fixture is and has been standard for as long as I remember.
  11. Looking at their recent scores and our allergy to getting men forwards, this looks like it's gonna be dull as dishwater. 1-1 Gareth McCauley/Craig Dawson overhead kick on the line Off Ayew's arse after a Luke Thomas throw in causes mayhem and McAuley/Dawson kicks the ball at Ayew's peach Don't tell me McCauley or Dawson don't play for them, pretty sure it's written in EFL law that one of them has to play CB for them.
  12. Not sure why we're linked, we don't need a keeper and it's not a position crying out for improvement in.
  13. I think the difference between the teams that went up this year and ours was that these teams actually accept that they're lower quality and aren't trying to play better teams at their own game. Makes a massive difference when you don't have your team noncing around with the ball in their own third against much better teams. It also helps if you don't have one player trying to play right back and right wing by themself
  14. Hard to see past Harborough this year, wouldn't be shocked to see them go far in the FA cup again either.
  15. Yeah, I think it's likely that he will be offered an opportunity at a higher level soon, he seems to be working wonders with you. That's the problem with exceeding expectations, it's great at the time, but it's only a matter of time before bigger clubs take notice and put in their offers. Are you still in the cups? if you can remain competitive in the top half and have a decent cup run than that'd be ace. The gap in the budgets at step 3 are insane aren't they Always the clubs that are signing players from levels above claiming that they're working on a shoestring as well I still have the league on my Flashscores, it hurts every time I open it up haha. So i'll be keeping and eye out, I do love the updates in here as well, it's good to see this thread much more lively that it was a couple of years back I'll have to pop down for a game when Coalville aren't playing.
  16. Arteta's gonna be sticking in a cheeky bid in the Jan window after that.
  17. Haha to be fair, that sounds like the most "Billy Kee" description of a goal I've ever read Fitting that the man himself got it. Good to bounce back after a disappointing result vs Royston. Being a Coalville fan, I know that feeling well, I think we played Royston either 8 or 10 times in that league and never beat them Considering we were usually near the top and they were lower mid table it was quite a feat. Do you think you can maintain the form and have a genuine pop at the play offs this year?
  18. Yeah, the plan is to copy the national league Single game 5th v 8th - M1 6th v 7th - M2 Two legged play offs 3rd v winner of M2 4th v winner of M1 If they do this along with making it 3 drop from League two as well then that'd be a good trade off.
  19. Can't imagine they're doing this thinking "we're gonna make millions from these extra 2 games" Saying that, there are usually plenty of people crying that top 3 don't go straight up at the end of the season. Lots of different opinions on what's right. Adding a couple of extra qualifiers where highest team gets home advantage, between 8th and 5th and 6th and 7th isn't a big deal for me.
  20. Looks like I'm in the minority but I like the idea. Gives more teams a chance at promotion. Teams in 3rd and 4th have the luxury of playing a team that's had to play an extra game. Absolutely love the play offs and if there's 5 or 6 teams with a chance of getting into that lottery on the final day, even better.
  21. Never really saw what others have seen in him. He strikes me as a decent championship winger. Can be very good in short bursts, but for me, more often than not he makes poor/negative choices on the ball. He's okay but I'd rather see us play more of Monga. The way some people talk about his 23/24 season you'd be forgiven for wondering why he's not in the Prem this year after being snapped up for 30m.
  22. Yes lad! Now he can go back to the u21s and be 5th choice AM for the next 3 years.
  23. The timing of the run, the touch and the finish finish were all excellent. Nothing really wrong with Donarumma's starting position at all. All you're doing is making it as tough as possible for the attacker, the pass is great and Martinelli has done all 3 things superbly and deserves all the credit for that. Sometimes it's just great play and nobody is really to blame.
  24. Does the red card stand from an abandoned game?
