  1. How was that not a pen, he clearly takes Merino's left left before winning the ball?
  2. Amazon.co.uk: Amazon Prime
  3. Didn't think that was a pen to be fair, way too soft. I agree with Clattenberg on that one, if your man's throwing his arms in the air he's faking it.
  4. Clattenburg admitting he wouldn't give a deserved yellow because it's early. Horrible to hear officials admitting they don't apply the rules correctly and it just being accepted.
  5. Yep that was how I understood it. I recall last time we were in the champ that our parachute payments were spoken for. Which made promotion incredibly important. Wasnt sure if we would have the decks cleared end of this year or once again be in a similar spot. Feels like we're painfully close to being another Sunderland or portsmouth
  6. Yeah those loans are against future TV/prize money, so we know we'll be guaranteed x amount over a season, so we'll just pay that back to them when the Premier league gives us our share of prize money/tv money. On Footie Manager the TV money is paid monthly with the prize money obviously coming at the end. It just frees up the cash to spend immediately I guess and the bank make a lovely bit off the interest. I guess in principal it's similar to an overdraft.
  7. I do fully appreciate the point you're making. But you'd have to be absolutely loopy to attribute that success to Rudkin given what he's done since. I think ultimately the issue is that he doesn't do what a director of football/sporting director does. He doesn't lead. He doesn't have a vision. He hires a manager and then we're really at the whims of how good that manager is as an actual old school manager. A good director of football would not see the massive fluctuations of performance that we've seen under Rudkin. There would be clear and steady improvement, small dips and peaks. There's clear evidence that the role he takes is essentially negotiator and and administrator. To allow the wage bill to swell to 100% of our turnover with no plan in place to generate a higher turnover or reduce that wage bill was gross negligence and should have seen him in the firing line immediately.
  8. I think used correctly he's still a fine player and certainly good enough to be in most squads in the prem. We clearly see the guy completely differently though. I think if he goes to a new club. 1) he'll naturally be re-energised and 2) if he has a manager with a brain, they'll utilise his specific skillset. His physical presence and heigh in the middle will be a massive loss if we don't replace it.
  9. I wouldn't be against the sale if we had anything resembling a competent recruitment strategy. If we don't replace him with someone who has a similar physical presence we're gonna be easy pickings from set pieces and balls into the box next season.
  10. This is the same club that spent £20-25m on Oliver Skipp...are you sure about that?
  11. Wilf was massive for us last season, would be a shame to lose him for £9m. Especially when we turned down £10m for McAteer
  12. I think that's doing a disservice to semi-pro teams as well
  13. I think they'll likely smash it commercially. Turnover of £26.7m in league two is insane.
  14. Cracking fight that and more than lived up the hype. Wasn't much different to most British title fights you see that end up with 2 lads going toe to toe. The worst part about big fights is people that watch 1 or 2 fights a year moaning that boxing is fixed/dead/corrupt @MPH not sure if you mishead or not but it's fourteen months not fourty :p Still a long time out to come into a fight like this though. If we do a rematch i'l expect he'd have 2 more this year and then they'd look to do something early next year. I'd actually love to see if Connor benn could could come down 6/7 lbs and fight nick ball. That'd be a hell of a tear up but unfortunately probably too hard to bridge the weigh gap between them.
  15. That Spurs midfield is talented, but couldn't punch it's way out of a wet paper bag. Fancy Liverpool will run a train over these today, especially with one eye on Thursday
  16. 159, 159, 158, 160 are the weight that Eubank has come in at for his last 4 fights, it's not like he's doing something abnormally freakish as a one off, it's something he's experienced in doing. I'm buzzing for the fight, really expecting this to be a good tear up from the off. Benn hasn't managed a KO since getting off the...erm egg whites. So will be interesting to see if he has a bit of extra oompf with going up weight. Really hoping I see Billam Smith takes Glanton's head off after the comments Glanton made yesterday. Hoping Yarde will dispatch Arthur in what should be another great watch. Viddal v Clarke should be a good scrap as should McKenna v Smith. As far as cards go, it's very decent, possibly not for non Brit, but if you're a British boxing fan there's got to be plenty there for you.
  17. Eubank JR fined $500k for coming in at 160.02lb
  18. It would be pretty funny to see Vards score for Wrexham in front of the kop and give it the beans. Purely morbid curiosity of being on the other side of his shenanigans
  19. Eubank can gain back 10lb between fridays weigh in and saturday between 8-9am. So after that, there's nothing to stop him rehydrating and fueling well after that in preperation for the fight which is 13-14 hours later.
  20. Has he got the charisma? Literally the only gear we know he has is "wind up merchant/knob head" I feel like that'd get quite tiresome after a while
  21. What about the other 3 corners?
