Lampard has taken a top 6 team and got them into the top 6 to be fair. Not really sure what happened at the start of the season, but it's clearly a very capable squad that probably should have been challenging for that "best of the rest" outside of the top 3. I assume things just went stale under Robins at the start of this term? Not to undermine the fact he got them there, especially with a starting handicap, but I don't think it's the miracle that some are making it out to be.

Wonder if we'll put in a cheeky bid for Rudoni. KDH's goals and assists will be a massive loss this season and he certainly appears to have the gift of providing and scoring goals at this level.

Weso will always be the one. Looked so comfortable in the championship at 17 in a truly awful team. Balde absolutely ruined a very promising career.

Championship 2024/2025 Season Thread

Disappointed for Cov, but those were some impressive scenes after the Ballard goal. Play offs deliver some iconic moments! Gotta fancy Blades to absolutely tea bag Sunderland with the extra quality they have. -
David Fox, Loans Manager set to leave Leicester to join Plymouth
filbertway replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
I suppose being in charge of football operation is a better gig than being loans manager. Makes sense to be fair. Mad that the position was vacant for so long though -
He's got 4 more years, I doubt even we'd be daft enough to offer an extension on top of his remaining 3 years.
-
You could. But it would be worth nothing and either party could decide they don't want to honour it come Monga's 17th birthday. Not sure I'd put any faith in a gentleman's agreement these days.

Ancelotti New Brazil Coach
filbertway replied to Bob Weasel Fox's topic in General Football and Sport
Bad time to be a Brazil fan -
Dyche is a top bloke but I wouldn't want him anywhere near my club as manager. His football is absolutely disgusting. He has no aspirations other than being tough to beat and if you bag a goal then great. Awful awful awful. I'd say there's an argument to say he made Everton look worse than they were and made the job look harder than it actually was. I just want a manager that has their team trying to be proactive and score goals and win games. A manager who's default setting is "do not lose" is not the one for me.

You got a link to that, would be interested to read that because every source I've tried has said that a professional deal can't be agreed until the player turns 17.

Forest 2-2 LCFC, post-match thread
filbertway replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
Just watching that last Monga chance back. Soumare was so poor there. The pass was crap and took a really good touch by Vardy to keep the move alive. Then the lazy knob slows down to a slow jog rather than bursting forward to support. Being overtaken by 3 or 4 players who were way behind the play. Awful player, awful attitude. -
I think crediting with an attempt to lob is pushing it a bit to be fair mate I think he's focused so much on hitting the target that he's just mishit an incredibly tame side footed shot. That being said, if he had spawned one over the keeper and it landed in the back of the net it would have been glorious haha. Even now when I watch it back and just expecting him to hit a crisp shot into either corner If that curling effort a few minutes before had have gone in though he'd be getting compared to Yamal and have about 50 clubs contacting his family this week haha.

I'm glad it's not just me, Thomas was in a different post code to Elanga most of the time.
-
Absolutely, he over thought it and played it safe. I imagine if he was more confident he laces that either side of the keeper. Well I hope so anyway
-
Probably cus he missed a fairly simple chance that would likely have been the winner.
-
I'm fairly sure that legally no agreements can be made before the player turns 17. Obviously you can have a verbal agreement, but it's not worth anything and doesn't mean a thing. I Imagine it's Ruud just saying things that people want to hear, knowing that the vast majority won't have a clue.

Marinakis breakdown

Eurghhh Monga went safety first with that shot rather than hitting with conviction. Understandable given his age, but frustrating he didn't strike with more conviction. Nearly scored a oeach a few mins before that mind. Good to see a bit of fighting spirit there
-
Why not, it's all ironic. We're having a crap season, may as well enjoy the odd 5 mins of looking like a competent team
-
Thomas looks knackered Good day to be Elanga
-
Really? You'd have thought someone would mention it
-
Ayew so lazy that he throws himself to the floor because he can't be arsed to drive at the defence

Genuinely brain dead to force a vote for the women's. Both are just gonna be people picking one at random for a laugh Harsh on the women though, hundreds of genuine votes is better than thousands making a random choice.

Ben Nelson - loan to Oxford United - Official
filbertway replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
With all due respect to Nelson, he's got half a season's worth of games playing CB for Oxford. I wouldn't sell him as I think he does have potential be a Premier League quality CB with us. I can't imagine many clubs would see value in spending £20m+ on a CB with half a season of champ football to his name. (I know he was there a full season but missed half of it due to injury) -
Would be class if cancelled by mutal consent. Hire Russel Martin and his first order of business is to demand we resign Vesty on a 2 year deal
