Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

Ah I used to live about 5 mins from there in the meadows. I'd never have moved had I known there'd be an influx of sexy dutch men! -
If we can't then don't just sign players for the sake of it is my argument. A player should either come in with scope to improve or they should be able to slot into the first 11. If you need temporary cover for injuries use the loan market. Really simple criteria that'll stop you being stuck with a mass of dead wood.

What do I advise. Right let's look past the next 5 months. It's summer 2025. We've now got Matt Targett on the books for the next 3 years who will be taking up a squad space as nobody in their right mind is going to sign him from us. Is he going to strengthen us, nope. Is he going to cost a lot of money in wages? Almost certainly. I advise either waiting till the summer or signing a player that will improve the first 11. Let's not fill the squad up with bang average players who are earning more than they will earn anywhere else. We're literally just coming out the other side of that. We've seen how devastating this tactic is and yet we're just jumping straight back into it

It more and more feels like another things where we've taken the non league approach of doing things through word of mouth rather than using data analysis/professionalism to find him the best match. "Madders said that the gaffer helped him develop at Aberdeen" "Sound, you're off to Scotland Sammy, it's for best trust us"
-
Definitely seems like he'd be better in England league two or one playing for one of the many pep-lite managers in the lower leagues.
-
That's incredibly short term thinking. Juggling Europe and a League One/Championship schedule would be insane I know Birmingham did it, but it cost them automatic promotion and they've been stuck in the Championship ever since (well until this season to be fair)
-
I am enjoying lots of people confidently going "well this is where we're at now" Well I can guarantee we won't move forwards if the new plan is to just tie ourselves to bang average sh*te. If we carry on signing 30 somethings who are already on the downward curve we'll be reliving the halycon days of 02-08 in no time.

I question any stat source that says Patson Daka's accuracy is 100%
-
I assumed we had Man City or Liverpool away the way people were going on

Did anyone mention the clear pass back by Tamworth that the ref let go. Thats such poor defending by them. Get done by some class play, thats fine. But don't get punished because you're not switched on from a set piece

Ahhhh the amount of times I've seen gooch do that down Coalville. Would have been magic if he scored that
-
It's terrible, the man's not a centre back and certainly not at the top level.

Mans popped up with 2 goals! What a boy. Need more bravery like that in the league now, hopefully a confidence boost for the lad

QPR (H) - FA Cup 3rd Round (11th Jan, 2pm)

Impressive following, glad they're at least looking forward to the fixture They must sense blood as well to be fair, good chance of a Premier League scalp. -
Compared to what they've played before, Moyes will be offering up champagne football
-
Just to compare him to public enemy number 1 - James Justin. Obviously stats are gonna be somewhat skewed due to us playing on the edge of our box most of the time. This lads gonna be 26 before the end of the season, so at that age, he either comes in and is a starter or we have yet another players on the books that we can't shift.

Wow the guy is a proper corporate management type. Says a lot of words without saying anything at all.

This just reminded me of this scene from the US Office

Don't underestimate the fact he's working for one of the most intelligently ran clubs in the world. Not to dimmish his achievements as he's done a bang up job as a cog in the wheel there. There's no way a sane person would be thinking that moving from Brentford to Everton is a great plan, even with the new owners. The contract would have to be insane to even consider it.
