  1. Last season I thought we were playing just that with our exclusive sideway and backwards passing (Not said that in a while!) What we're seeing now is like a different game in a positive way. Yet more people seem to be vocal and complaining about it compared to the past 2 years+ which truly astounds me.
  2. But this is the crux of my point, based of our previous two seasons in the Premier League and a glimpse of what we've seen in a cup game against Premier League opposition this season, that style doesn't work for a team like us in that league. Generally, teams in the Premier League aren't going to be scared coming to Leicester, teams aren't going to to defend en masse but they are happy for us to have the ball, not let us get out our own half with it, they can almost push us back, attack us without the ball, force us into mistake, leads to them scoring, we saw it time and time again over 2 seasons are arguably against Liverpool in the cup. As i've said numerous times, I get it this season, against this opposition, but it generally only works for the 'top' teams, of which in this division we are. Even when teams did come and attack us previously, we didn't change, it just made us panic leading to even more errors playing in that way - I appreciate that's potentially been and gone under a different manager. Now, i'm sure what the alternative is, mix it up perhaps, not be so rigid, simplistic and easier said than done i'm sure. I mentioned last week for my sins i'll listen to TalkSport/606 phone ins (Mainly for entertainment and people being wound up), also speaking to match going fans of other teams and i'd say a massively high percentage of fans of most clubs complain of the same thing - they're bored. It's not/wasn't exclusive to us, that's a sad indictment of the modern game, aren't things supposed to improve, move forward, be exciting and entertaining? People want Football to get them on the edge of their seat. Anyway, like I said last night, i'm enjoying this season for what it is and not looking too far ahead to next season. FWIW I don't see Enzo exclusively playing possession based, largely and heavily, yes, it does worry it's his go to, and like most modern managers it's a case of "Do plan A better" rarely deviating for it but he has changed things up when needed on occasions and credit to that and it is working, whilst it's working he can afford to have that philosophy and mindset.
  3. Once we're 1 up it's easy and only look like scoring more, it's just getting the 1st/going ahead. I appreciate it's easier said than done and the opposition are obviously going to make that hard.
  4. "We're born in this style, we'll die in this style" were along the lines of Enzo's comments after todays game. I didn't see where a winner was coming from today, duly, we got one, two, fair play, whilst we are doing that he can afford the attitude of his comment. Our losses have shown shortcomings, concerns and ask a few questions. He has a philosophy, which is fair enough, but what's wrong with throwing the kitchen sink at Leeds and Middlesbrough towards the latter stages - certainly the Middlesbrough game. Listen, I'm enjoying the season and i'm not going to use that a stick to batter him with - I was actually trying to spin those losses into positives, hoping those games would be used to highlight what we could and need to do better. Likewise i'm enjoying this season and not looking too far ahead to next season, because I "get it" in this league, against this opposition. I just feel playing this way next season we'll be a world of pain, certainly with the "We're born in this style, we'll die in this style" attitude, you only have to look at Burnley and listen to their fans, lauding their cultured change in style, being so successful last season, now the concerns and complaints of "tippy tappy" football are raising their head and being chucked at Burnley/Kompany.
  5. We were, but as shown against Hull and Leeds (Middlesbrough maybe, I havn't seen alot of that game) when it ain't going in for us, it ain't going in. Especially when Vardy comes on and spoons 2 over the bar you start thinking it ain't gonna be your day!
  6. Found that abit of a struggle at times, certainly the first half, second half we were abit more expansive, still couldn't see where a winner was actually come from, but duly, we got the winner!
  7. People who come to a complete stop to turn a corner. While we're at it, technically not on the road but people who reverse park and take 5 minutes about it. **** off out my way.
  8. That had crossed my mind. This has opened a can of worms and providing the powers that be have got the bollocks stick by their decisions across the board, i'm all for it (I don't think they do have the bollocks however).
  9. Just been reading there is no access to the Google Play Store and it's very much Amazons software, services and apps? So I take that as you'd not be able to get like-for-like apps you'd get on Android/Apple?
  10. Any advice or suggestions for cheap tablets? Amazon tabs? Acer/Lenovo? Good, bad, indifferent or don't bother? Save the money and put it towards an iPad/Alternative? I'm looking for a reasonably cheap and basic tablet to buy as a gift. I've seen; Buy AMAZON Fire HD 8 Tablet (2022) - 32 GB, Black | Currys - £49.99 Buy VENTURER Voyager 7" Tablet - 16 GB, Rose Gold | Currys = £59.99 Buy ACER ACTAB723 7" Tablet - 16 GB, Black | Currys - £59.99 - These first 3 perhaps abit on the small side? Buy AMAZON Fire HD 10 10.1" Tablet (2023) - 32 GB, Black | Currys - £84.99 Buy ACER ACTAB1024 10.1" Tablet - 32 GB, Gun Grey | Currys - £89.99 Buy LENOVO Tab M9 9" Tablet with Silicone Case - 32 GB, Arctic Grey | Currys - £99.99 As someone who has only used Apple and knows nothing about Android are they similar in ease of use? I assume you can pretty much download the same like-for-like apps? Google news as opposed to Apple news?

  12. Whether people agree or disagree with the sanctions against Everton, they deserve it for that horrid "wooooooooo" song.
  13. Fair enough for me to have said it's not their fault is silly, of course it's their fault, they spent the money but the rest of my points still stand, it's still the PL or whoever is governing FFP's fault for not being stringent enough or not governing, at all. As for only a matter or time until they come unstuck, maybe for the smaller, 'lesser' clubs but tell that to the Man City's, Chelsea's, Man Utd's, Barcelona's (albeit not PL - and despite their issues, still functioning as a force) - never coming unstuck, never being punished. A fine to those clubs isn't a punishment to them, it doesn't hurt them. I'm not sticking up for Everton here by the way, they've done wrong and deserve punishment, 10 points isn't harsh enough imo, I also feel other clubs have done worse and should have been punished harsher and longer before now though, again, that's on the powers that be.
  14. Also, would it be Everton we were suing or would it not be the PL (Or whoever it is that rules FFP), the establishment, for not enforcing their own rules and doing their own due diligence? Many clubs have and are quite clearly, blatantly and obviously breaking rules, it's not their fault they're seemingly (until now) allowed to clearly, blatantly and obviously break the rules. The PL ****ing stinks, for many reasons.
  15. I'm not gonna say this should have happened last season therefore we should have survived because we were dogshit for 2 years and deserved to go down, our dilly dallying not sacking Rodgers earlier deserves that alone. Even if we'd done likewise breaking FFP rules last summer i'm fairly confident we were still going down under that management throughout this club last season. I'd have relegated 4 last season and promoted an extra team instead. Not to mention i'm actually enjoying football for the first time in a few years. **** the Premier League. However, Everton have done wrong, for years, along with Man City, along with Chelsea and along with Villa, i'm certain there are others but those 3(4) instantly all come to mind straight away. I didn't think Everton would ever be punished because to do that they'd need to punish atleast 2 of the big 6 - never going to happen - Even with todays events, I still don't think anything will be done to Man City or Chelsea - not meaningful anyway. Therefore whilst not agreeing "they should have gone instead of us", I do agree with looking into legal proceedings on a technicality and suing them.
  16. x115 for Man City though ah? Can't damage the "EPL brand" now.
  17. Finally got “Who are you” before any of the @BSLBPod Quick one - I don’t know the first thing about putting a pod together but I assume it’s get edited and chopped about, I’ve noticed in quite a few pods it skips back, on the latest pod during the Any Other Business section is skips back to the names of animals then the pod ends? (Unless it’s my dodgy phone) Another great episode nonetheless!
  18. I've only seen Chelsea play last Monday and today but from what i've seen they're quite refreshing to watch, get stuck in, a throwback. Albeit started the season poorly refreshing nonetheless.
  19. Sad but true. For my sins I listen to TalkSport/606 phone in's and every fan of every club is complaining of the same thing - they're bored of their team or the game. I hear it from so many fans of so many club, whether that be on these phone in's or whether I speak to match going fans of various clubs in person. As i've said in another thread earlier, this season I have actually quite enjoyed it, ultimately i've got to compromise and accept this style or give it up, so far this season we've largely been positive, moving forwards, scoring goals - obviously winning has helped that but there is more to it than that, it's so much more positive than the dirge we've had to suffer in the last few seasons. Could it be more-so enjoyable and exciting, for sure. Does anyone actually enjoy what you've described above though, seriously. The game in general is dead regarding excitement and enjoyment in most games and it gets worse as you go up through the leagues and levels despite the quality and skill level of the players.
  20. (Posted in 2 very similar threads) For all the comparison that have been made I personally don't think we've been anything like Man City. Yes we've dominated possession but for all the joke and jibes about people shouting "Forwards!" we largely have been very front footed and forwards, I've found it very entertaining, exciting and rather enjoyable (And there is more to it than just because we've been winning) it's quite clear in the modern game I've got to be the one who changes and accepts possession based football, if this/that/what we've seen for most of this season is the compromise I have to make then so be it but it's polar opposites to what we've seen in the last few years and nothing like Man City imo - they much like the last two seasons with ourselves bore the life out of me. Now, in the last 2 games, it seems we've been found out a little. Without contradicting myself I do believe, like most/all modern managers Enzo is a "If Plan A isn't working, do Plan A better" type, but we have shown under him (Whether he likes it or not) we can be flexible, play in different ways and we can grind games out, however, we need to work on that, alot! In this division I can see why we play the way we are and it's bought us success in games more often than not, but you can't play in a one size fits all style all the time, you get found out, it's arguably easy to play against and you can almost predict what we're going to do. I get it in this division, teams are gonna play against us and defend, put players behind the ball and when we make mistakes playing this way against them it often goes unpunished and it just come across as abit impotent, however if/when we go up I foresee big problems playing this way and i'm not sure I could excuse or legislate for it.

  22. Didn't sound great, sounded very frustrating but as i've said before without going full Pep, Klopp, Man City, Spain, Liverpool or Rodri the opposition we're always going to make it tough for us, not 'play our game' and not play into our hands, obviously, that's the idea and credit to them they did it well. It's up to us, Enzo, the players to find a way around that - We have shown we can mix it up, play in different ways but we need to improve on that, big time! Very frustrated, not happy but 2 losses in a row now, get angry, use the bitter sting to make them focus and they've got 2 weeks now to stew on it and work on it - use that for positive change!
  23. Spurs are back!
