Hello everyone it’s time for your yearly random A-League suggestions Now I’m a Melbourne City STH, and have watched this years team be absolutely decimated by injury, and be forced to play academy players for a lot of the year. In a salary capped league, the high-end depth is not going to be there, but this season was unusually high for injuries for us. However, our youth players did fantastically and set us up to finish second on the table, and are in the final this weekend. Out of this, there’s a couple of players who I think could add depth, and would be very cheap. Not many highlight reels exist, you gotta trust me I guess. The easy thing to do is to compare to our existing youth, which I think is unfair. These are players who are getting senior level minutes. Kai Trewin - 24 years old, CB A player with a terrible highlight reel and in the best way possible. Ball playing CB, incredibly calm and composed. Passing is VERY good. Filled in as a 6 throughout the season. Great positioning, whilst not the fastest (he’s not slow). Threat from corners, and penalty taker at some points this year. Kai in my opinion was the best defender in the league this year. Did not make mistakes, had the ball a lot but kept it moving. 24 games, rating of 7.39 from FotMob. Max Caputo - 19, Striker Made his debut at 15, always seen as the next star. Only managed 14 games this season with injury, but grabbed 5 goals. Junior career an absolute star. 12 in 13 as a 15 year old in the Under 18s, 9 in 13 as a 16 year old. He’s a 9, and in the last season has put on a load of size. Not getting bullied on the park. Lots of differing stats on his height, as he’s still growing, but in person he’s 6 foot easily. Nice finish and penalty below. 5 goals this year, but given our injuries he’s still tied for top scorer. Coming into the season, all of our long term, senior team strikers had gone, and it was his position. His injury robbed him this year, could quite easily had 15 or so goals given more time. He needs more minutes to develop consistency in the senior team, but I’m all in on him, he’s a future Socceroo. There are others who could do a job, Marco Tilio is already a World Cup Socceroo and is a Celtic player but came back for minutes, Zane Schreiber a number 6 who plays the ball forward(!) could be a star, Medin Memeti is our next Caputo. The kids are good down here, and they’re getting senior minutes. I hope our scouts can afford to make the trips, if not they can pay me.

I would ****ing love it if our Jeffrey came home Completely the wrong type of signing, but he held a cult figure place in my heart that was only filled by Dennis

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

Against Brussell as I don’t think he’s the culture reseter we need. It’s more of the same. I’m firmly Ruud out but I do applaud him for forcing players out if they’re not meeting standards off the pitch. Baffling that the on pitch standards haven’t been met the same way -

Because they’re usually winning and have the quality around, as well as the breathing space to give the players a chance. Remember even though our young players may be training well, they’re training against Leicester City players…. -
David Fox, Loans Manager set to leave Leicester to join Plymouth
ACF replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
Reckon he’d be a great Loans Manager too, seems to know a fair bit about Temporary Employment -
It’s a nod and a wink, not a legal agreement. As long as no contract is signed and no other party is being paid (and no one says anything) should be all fine Part of the game!
-
But giving him 4 years actually helped us PSR wise. Otherwise you’re spreading the £25m or whatever it was over 3 years, not 4, making his yearly impact £2,083,333 higher. That’s a Coulibaly a year!!!
-
And if he walks away from a contract, its very strong evidence of what we feel he was worth.
-
You could very easily say “Here’s your contract for the day you are eligible, and this will be your signing on fee, which is X PLUS the equivalent of £20k per week wage + bonuses for the last two years”

His uncle Canal used to be a decent player

Heard he’s not even showing up to training 4 days a week, slacker

Changes to Championship Profit & Sustainability Rules approved at EGM

Understood completely! But a good sponsor relationship is mutually beneficial to both sides, not just a cash grab. An opportunity to raise a your own profile via another vehicle. Source: Me, marketing professional with focus on consumer, commercialisation & brand partnerships. -

Sorry, this is totally the wrong way to spin this and something I’m quite passionate about. Wrexham have done a phenomenal job of commercialising the club, helped by their absolute star power yes, but it’s the case study on how to get attention, and therefore £, into your club. Meanwhile, whilst we had ALL the attention, we treat fans like crap, we continued with KP as front of shirt sponsors rather than accept outside money, we’ve launched absolute crap merchandise, our media and social media team are atrocious and don’t drive engagement with the club, I could go on and on. The online shop has been down for at least 6 weeks whilst our greatest ever player has retired, can’t buy a Vardy shirt. And when we do try to capitalise, it’s shit tours to South East Asia in monsoon season. We all whinge about the amount we spent on shite players, but our revenue generation is also absolutely terrible.- 86 replies

But it’s more agent-led noise, than actually anything about other clubs being interested

Yeah but he didn’t have any Premier League Experience™ so obviously not worth it
