Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
ACF replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
I’m using garden leave fairly loosely. For all intents and purposes, and Ruud would know this, he would be being removed from duty due to poor performance, and to stop further negative business impact. There is absolutely 0 doubt to this and tribunal couldn’t disagree with this. His income is not dependent on him actually managing the games and taking training. He likely won’t be able to achieve bonuses anyway. We tell him to stay away, whilst we finalise negotiations with him and his management. He gets paid the whole time, and we give him his payout when suitable. We don’t stop him taking other jobs in the media etc. Yes it’s messy, but is it less messy than him staying in the role right now. It’s messy because of our consistent failures and mismanagement. -

You can’t say mutually agree and suggest something he might not agree to. He might be forcing the issue over an NDA so he can be a pundit and talk about it openly, he might be forcing the issue of wanting his cash upfront, he might be forcing his contract to the letter because of how he’s been lied to by the board. Gardening leave gets him out the way, formally sack him when it’s suitable accounting wise (ie we make player sales that puts us well over the top of PSR or next period) -

You’re right, it does push it into a period where it’s tight. It’s also tight now, because we’ve already sacked a manager who made some absolute dross signings. Pushing it out may be the only way to manage it, without significant income coming in. That’s why the club are hoping he’ll walk away. By the way, not a single one of us would leave a job, where your bosses have lied to you, want you gone, and there’s a few million quid on the table if you’re sacked, UNLESS we had something lined up. -

They can put him on gardening leave until 2nd July and then pay him out. Gets him out now and saves us for PSR -
More saw it as letting him have his moment tbh. Surely would’ve had a good chat before the cameras turned on.

Got to have buyers to be able to sell them

I don’t buy this, but I do think we were close and we’re in trouble again this year, hence the no transfers and not sacking Ruud. If we actually did fail, it would be absolutely stupid to not admit it at this point, and just cop the deduction. We’re already down. -
Didn’t do anything wrong, reckon we promote him to the board

Living in Aus, I have called for Ange at Leicester since his Socceroos days. He’s the culture setter we need, that Levy can’t handle. Fat chance of it happening though.

Whatever you think of RVN football wise, as a person he seems pretty reasonable and doesn’t seem like the bloke to cause a fight out of nowhere. He’s not the type of bloke to cause a bust up over a player saying “I need to be around my wife more post birth”, It more seems that Winks has checked out of the season, is unwilling to put in the effort to turn his form around.

That Chelsea information is absolutely ****ing bonkers. We got around the rules with some proper dodgy behaviour, however we also did make good player sales, lost our manager, and have shown to limit our transfer outlay. If what they’ve done stands, we have to sell Seagrave to Ping Kower for £150m tomorrow.

Not to defend Skipp, but which player doesn’t look lost right now?

I truly think the chance for that was Potter, who wanted his own DOF… -

Disagree, genuinely think we need a culture setter, an experienced head to reset the tone of the club. I think Enzo was able to do that partially but we all saw the drop in the back half once we got figured out. Nigel would never do it, but I am thinking of someone like him, to get his tentacles everywhere. We need a figurehead to steer the ship. I don’t think a Carrick, a Rosenior, could do that. -
Should be paying Monga that amount to keep him 😂

Storms were literally 1,000 miles away. Monza is closer to Silverstone than Brisbane to Melbourne.

RICARDOOOOOO

Maddison Mark II, but if we got £40m for Alves that’s a massive success.
-
What do you mean “starting to think”? That’s literally been the case since the pre-relegation transfer window when we refused to sell Fofana for so long, but couldn’t bring in anyone else without that sale.

Where is he playing at the moment?

Glad to see I’m living in your head Yes I do disagree - we had the worst defence and Mads was playing out of his skin. Funnily enough when he’s not playing at absolute world class level we’re constantly on the back foot and too scared to go forward as we know we’ll concede. You can ask in two days, two weeks, two relegations, answers going to be the same pal. -
swap the family stand etc

West Ham United away, AKA eat, sleep, Decordova-Reid repeat.

Mads Okoli Vesty Coady Skipp Thomas Winks Ndidi Bilal Facundo Vardy Do not trust any right back. Skipp to just be industrious and defensive which I think he can do. He slides next to Winks in possession, gives freedom for Bilal and Facundo to get on the ball. Aim to absorb pressure and counter. There’s enough defensive presence there but absolutely no brains. Hoping numbers back with getting the ball to the two creators quickly opens things up for Vardy and Ndidi to get on the end of something. Would be tempted to play Faes to instruct him to step out of CB with the ball which we know he can do well, but he does not deserve to be anywhere near the team this week. Fill bench with youth, Braybrooke, Evans, Monga at a minimum. Not because I think they deserve a chance, but because the current squad is predictable, and to get anything out of games we need an element of unknown. It is unfair to put our hopes of survival on them, but we need a surprise or two and it’s not coming from the current setup.
