I have listened to it now whilst walking the dog. Very interesting. It seems to me that if we had continued along our strategy of buying players with resale potential instead of over-indulging Rodgers we woukd have been OK. It is interesting the parallels between ourselves and Sunderland and more than a coincidence I think that we both employed a certain L. Congerton.
-
I think that statement let's Rodgers off the hook. It was he that insisted on bringing in his mate Congerton, he that ripped up the transfer strategy that had served us so well, in favour of his 'silver medalist' approach, he that played Danny Ward 28 or so times and he thar sulked us all the way to that first, wholly avoidable relegation. We are here because of the three of them.

Southampton at home, 2026? Gotta go down in the history books that one.
-
I think that's optimistic. All three promoted came down without a whimper. We set records and not in a good way. It would have taken triple our transfer budget to create a team with a chance of staying up comfortably. Agree that our recruitment, players and managers, was utterly abysmal though, as they are proving week in week out in the division below.
-
The way I expected it to go would be a few relegations and promotions between the top two divisions until we had rebuilt a team capable of staying up. I think it was quite obvious that we would go down last year so did we really need to spend £60m on rubbish that year? I also fully expected to be challenging for promotion this year and we started off that way and really should be up there with all of our advantages. The fact that we are flailing around like a trout in a keep net is just scandous.

OK, I get that, but it still seems to me that the cure for that is to get back to the Premier League. We're heading for big trouble in eitherthe championship or league one.
-
Maybe, but on the other hand, a relatively big club at its lowest ebb might be just the thing an upwardly mobile manager might be looking for.
-
Life's too short. The football is bad enough but I hate the way that modern football and psr is turning us into amateur accountants. I'm just saying that the big cliff edge drop off is the premier league down to the championship. Championship down to league one is just slightly thinner gruel.
-
We have done these worst XIs many times and there's little point in dredging up the likes of Norman leet imo. I think it would be better to come up with an XI that have let us down the most.
-
Just showing my ignorance here, but there is no money in playing in the Championship, so why would it be so much of a disaster financially if we dropped again? Dropping from the PL to the championship is the catastrophe.
-
I think it's relative. Junior Lewis was probably a bit shitter than soumare but he didn't cost £20m on ridiculous wages, he wasn't signed to improve a champions league chasing team and at least he tried to put a shift in. Of the two, I know which one was the more damaging signing.

I think that our floor is league one. The trouble is, that we will get there from a position of being at our absolute ceiling and beyond and it happened in the blink of an eye due to a blizzard of baffling cock ups. We have been down before but this is worse because we were in such a position of strength that we should have consolidated ourselves as a top-half Premier League club. As others have said, football is cyclical and we will get our mojo back and start to climb again. I don't know when that will be, but first, the remainder of this squad of malingerers needs culling and one thing is for certain, the man that has overseen all of this as director of football needs to go and we should not be appeased by the sleight of hand of moving him upstairs. That would be a scandal. He needs to empty his desk right now. -

Yes. We are an unstoppable force. And not in a good way.

Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!

If Dennis Wise is the benchmark for most despised Leicester player, for me, Mr Potato Head is running him close. -
Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!
murphy replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
This forum has form for suggesting that Ayew's main or only benefit to the team is to come on as a sub to shore up a winning position. I have never understood it and I think we can rip that idea up, set it on fire and stamp it into the ground. Jordan Ayew has no redeeming characteristics. -

If we ever score 4, we'll find a way to concede 5. -

What is the opposite of superlative? Whatever it is, I am running out them week on week. If they ever make LCFC the movie, no one will believe it. -
Believe me, none of us wish for Martin. The last time we were between managers, our fans made it clear from the stands that we don't want that 'twat in a cardigan' as you put it. I think we all breathed a collective sigh of relief when he ended up in Glasgow. The only trouble is that our owner has a bit of a fetish for his kind of football and also, as a club we have a weird fixation on Southampton cast-offs, so you never know. Martin getting appointed here would be a new low, in a series of lows, for us.
-
Not just 'someone', but their fairy godmother, Leicester City. The club that takes all of their rubbish off their hands. Clapped out Southampton dossers end up at Leicester City in the same way that old tories end up in Reform.

Not bad considering we don 't have a striker.
