  1. Quite right too!
  2. I think there's a good chance Mads and BEK go, just not necessarily inevitable. I don't think we should be resigned to it, the club should try to keep them. Our wage bill will be reduced by relegation clauses and I think we will finally get some big earners off the bill this time, including the biggest in Vardy, sadly.
  3. Not necessarily. I wouldn't be resigned to that. Some ambitious clubs that are relegated keep their best players. Villa kept Grealish. Sheff Utd still have Hamer. We have Hermansen and Bilal under contract, wages will be adjusted to Championship levels as per likely contract clauses and we will get parachute payments. We might even be able to sell some of those that we don't want like Faes and Soumare.
  4. True, but we bought a DM for £25m that we didn't need and can't even get into the team, plus we bought two wingers with a combined age of about 70. Then we overspent on Okoli in my view. If we had had a clear plan we might have been able to bring in some players that could implement it. Cooper's fixation with experienced journeymen was never going to make the difference for us.
  5. I think that Forest have shown the blue print for what we should have been doing. 20th in the league for possession and for 20th for completed passes yet sitting third in the league with their counter attacking strategy. It's what we should have done as soon as Enzo left. We should have recognised that we don't have the squad to go toe to toe in this league, playing on the counter should have been the obvious choice. Instead of buying geriatric defensive wingers we should be playing a forward line with pace. I wouldn't have had an issue with Cooper's bus parking tactics as long as we had a threat and an outlet ourselves. Jordan Ayew and BCDR do not provide that. Sadly, nor does a 39 year old legend.
  6. Cooper's momentum . There's two words that don't belong in the same sentence if ever I saw them. Perhaps it was a short-lived new manager bounce?
  7. Agree with this. Instead of playing geriatric plodders, let's just have a go. We're going down with a whimper.
  8. So you're suggesting we should sign players that actually improve the team? It's a novel approach. Not sure it will catch on.
  9. Amartey is no kind of hero.
  10. Do you remember when Vardy was injured and Perez was chosen over Iheanacho at CF? It was horrific.
  11. I remember this argument being trotted out many times, until he was played behind the striker and stank the place out just as much as he did on the right. He played the majority of his Newcastle games on the right, not the left.
  12. Of all our dud signings, Perez is only beaten to the top spot by Danny Ward for me, given the context of our team's strength at the time. I don't care what he has or hasn't done at other clubs, he was a terrible signing for us. No player has ever frustrated me more. Always on his backside, always losing possession with the strength of a kitten and the weak link in a great team. As much a Rodgers pick as Ayew was for Cooper and that, coupled with his scarcely believable price tag led to him being persevered with for far too long imo. I have often wondered, what if... Where would we be now if we had got that last piece of the jigsaw right?
  13. I agree with you we but hasn't the last transfer window shown us that the club has given up?
  14. I'm going ot a bit here, but this thread highlights just how bad our recruitment has been that I Could list two full teams of dud signings made in this PL era, or the last ten years just off the top of my head. I'm sure there are more: Ward zieler Benalouane. Bertrand Faes. Vestergaard Amartey. Hernandez Bennett. Benkovic Skipp. Silva Inler. Soumare Musa. Ayew Mendy. Perez Daka Slimani Ghezzal. Diabate
  15. Inler, Vestergaard, slimani, perez, daka, soumare, faes, benkovic, Amartey, mendy and Perez again.
  16. Some (league survival) matter more than others (irrelevant cup runs). Obviously.
  17. Not this year Ben. I tell you what does matter, poltergeists n charity shops!
  18. I'll actually be annoyed if we win this. Eight defeats out nine in the league, then go and win when it doesn't matter.
  19. I wish that we hadn't sacked Rodgers until the end of the season so that he has that relegation on his CV.
  20. Yes, we haven't won many games. When I say that Buonanotte is a potential match winner, I mean that he is a creative player, someone that could potentially make something out of nothing and make things happen. Unlike your average plodder like Jordan ayew. We have a dire paucity of creativity in the squad.
  21. Potential match winner. We have very few of those. Worth a hundred Ayews
  22. Was actually a bit sick in my mouth typing that..
  23. Dennis Wise was misunderstood.
  24. Up the fossils!
