  1. They sacked him before they hit the bottom 3 because they could see the route they were taking and took preemptive action to prevent it. Like we should have done with Rodgers.
  2. can he play centre back?
  3. true but you'd think a club in our place would look to increase it's psr headroom when renewing contracts. that said, it's on the assumption of some financial accumen at the club and that might be an unjustified assumption at this point.
  4. sorry trav but this is honestly a daft point. you can't ever guarantee that making a specific change will be better, that's not how it works. the question always has to be, can things improve without changing that specific area and at this point it's very clear that things cannot improve under this board, so you take the gamble that, while things might get worse, there's also the chance to get better, and make the change.
  5. not quite, it's over the initial contract, however if you extend you then spread the remaining book value over the new contract length. So say we signed a player for 20m on a 5 year deal. after 3 years his book value is 8m. if we extend that contract by another two years his amortized value goes from 4m/year to 2m/year as that 8m is then spread over the 4 year contract.
  6. EFL had a transfer embargo on us before we were promoted, people are working on the assumption they won't lift that, and also that we failed PSR 20-23 period but PL didn't have jurisdiction because we were an EFL club. on that basis, the EFL can argue they have the right to enact punishment however this whole thing has shown there's huge holes in the laws. In reality I suspect the EFL will try to go for us and we'll end up in a protracted legal battle over it.
  7. love to write trash opinion articles and not fact check them. "Their expected points tally by the end of the season is 26.13, which we'll ever so kindly round down to 26. If this points tally comes true, it would be a worse finish than the 2022/23 season. In that season, Leicester not only finished 18th but they finished there with 36 points. Therefore, they are forecasted to complete this season with 12 less points than their last Premier League campaign." we got 34, not 36, and even if we got 36, 26 is 10 less, not 12 less.
  8. I mean if you want to be a pendatic arsehole, and I very much do, under Trumps EO, no genders exist in America (nor sexes) "female means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the large reproductive cell. male means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the small reproductive cell." that is fetal personhood they're putting in and should scare everyone because that's a clear indication of a federal abortion ban on its way, but also at conception you don't belong to a sex, sex differentiation happens several weeks in, it's why the penile raphe and male nipples exist. honestly I would suggest you look at the concurring opinion from Justice Thomas in the wake of Dobbs v Jackson (which overturned Roe v Wade): "For that reason, in future cases, we should reconsider all of this Court’s substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell." that is the conservatives justices saying "bring us challenges on contraceptive access, same sex relations and same sex marriage, and we will overturn them". trans people are the canary in the coalmine, part of a divide and conquer approach, and that's been the case since Obergefell passed in 2015. there's a reason why there was basically no support for north Carolina bathroom bills back in 2016, and why GRA reform was part of May's policy platform in 2017. the public opinion on trans rights was apathy, because we hadn't been subjected to a multi million propaganda blitz; which was entirely because it acted as a launch pad to attack LGBT rights as a whole. It should also be obvious why they're attacking LGBT rights as a whole, and it's the same reason why they put fetal personhood into the EO trying to define trans people out of existence: it's the ****ing birthrate. people transitioning aren't really having kids, men having sex with men and women having sex with women aren't "doing their duty" to reproduce. Throw in the white supremacist scaremongering about being outbred by racial minorities and you end up here.
  9. womens team do desperately need a goalscorer tbf
  10. this is why the board have to resign. The comments from Ruud clearly indicate he was given some promises of funds for this window. You've already referenced Enzo, and much as we criticise him for his response of just downing tools, Rodgers was obviously promised some funds hence his constant going on about a rebuild. That's 3 of the last 4 permanent managers the board have mislead on funds if nothing else happens with this window and is gross incompetence
  11. see, that's why people are complaining about him cheating, because his skeleton doesn't have any ligaments to break
  12. cheers for the summary Jon.
  13. the immortal jon Rudkin is still DoF, and KPFC fans defend his failure to get a new striker to give the bones of Jamie Vardy a rest on the basis that Seagrave has been reclaimed by the newts.
  14. i mean they don't though? it's literally just open the main compartment enough to see inside
  15. no he didn't? we've not even played Brighton away yet, and again, anyone thinking wolves would have been different is not dealing in reality. it was ward or Iversen and cooper preferred ward too
  16. nope, we'd have lost to wolves, as we'd have still had Ward in goal and he was the difference, unless you want to do some butterfly effect if cooper isn't sacked mads doesn't get injured, but that's just absurd speculation. I also don't think we win v West Ham or draw v Brighton under Cooper. Palace and Fulham ok, maybe we might have picked up points, however at best we'd be looking at the same number of points, just taken from different games.
  17. so, again, what points dropped under Ruud do you think we would have got under Cooper. Bear in mind that under both we'd have had Ward in goal v Wolves, because Stolarcyk wasn't fit, Mads was injured and Cooper also favoured Ward over Iversen
  18. would we really though? where do you see us picking up points under Cooper that we haven't under Ruud?
  19. should be but they'll say "oh we've got a resale platform" and make it your fault for not attending/giving them the ticket back for a partial refund and for them to sell on for even more.
  20. the over sanitisation, overpriced "match day experience" is hardly exclusive to us. It doesn't explain the protests or all clubs would be protesting, what explains the protests is ultimately that we're ****ing shit. The mismanagement has been going for ages has been generally ignored until it's impossible to do so, as we look at a second relegation in 3 years and a set of problems reminiscent of 2001-2004. If we were sat in 7th, getting conference league football, with this level of mismanagement and contempt for the fans, most would simply not bat an eyelid and say "we're punching above our weight, why are you complaining" (as they did when we were talking about the threat of relegation under Rodgers at the end of 21/22). like the match day experience stuff is shit, designed around a corporate idea of what fans want rather than actually listening to fans, but it's not relevant to the starting protests at all.
  21. fully expect that to be in place here shortly given the "why didn't you turn up" emails I get for midweek games
  22. eh, more the whole international fanbase side of things. more people worldwide will tune in to a game Man Utd are playing in than most other clubs.
  23. strongly recommend being blocked by him, makes Twitter about city so much better
  24. a completely irrelevant loanee, managed like 7 minutes total while here.
  25. let's be honest, they didn't actually do the review, just said they would to placate people since it'd be 3 months before they could hand out a free coconut water
