West Ham United away, AKA eat, sleep, Decordova-Reid repeat.
funkyrobot replied to Pliskin's topic in Leicester City Forum
West Ham aren’t great, they struggle to score goals, especially with no recognised fit centre forward. They aren’t great defensively and their best midfielder is injured. I’m feeling pretty hopeful that we’ll do better than most of us anticipate. With that in mind I’m going for 4-0 to West Ham. Come on you mighty foxes -
Anyone excited about tomorrow's game ?
funkyrobot replied to marcymarc666's topic in Leicester City Forum
I’m presuming WHAM fans are excited about tomorrow, it’s as close as they are going to get to a guaranteed victory. There won’t be many (any?) Leicester fans looking forward to it, nor many neutrals considering the game options they’ve had on TNT today and yesterday. For them it’ll be about as exciting as an ancient repeated episode of homes under the hammer. -
Someone bumped the tatt thread and I saw this ‘Ally’ symbol. Surely it would’ve been more relevant to have this lad tattooed somewhere instead?

Who would you have in a modern day Pearson styled team?
funkyrobot replied to ian__marshall's topic in Leicester City Forum
Cunha is worth quite a bit more than £25m tbf. He has buyout a clause of just over £60m on his new contract 😂. If you think we paid nearly £25m for Skipp, it’s entirely possible that someone might cough up that amount for the much better player that ELK is. -
Not going well for Raikhy 😬

Ayew, Cordova-Reid, Buonanotte, Mavididi, McAteer ?
funkyrobot replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
You will never convince anyone that BDCR is effective as it’s not backed up by either the eye test or the stats test. He looks ineffective and the analysis as outlined in the Mercury article backs that eye test up! Whether it’s a crisis in confidence or age catching him up I don’t know. Fulham fans liked him but it just hasn’t happened here from pre season onwards. -
Ayew, Cordova-Reid, Buonanotte, Mavididi, McAteer ?
funkyrobot replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
BDCR is 0% effective at defending so even a reluctant defender like Mavididi is better. As for Ayew, did you watch him allow centre back Nathan Collins to run forward and past him uncontested on Friday? He literally couldn’t be arsed. TBH I think there’s an argument to be had that Ayew is a good super-sub but I see nothing in BDCR to back up his ‘fine squad player’ status. -

Hopefully Ruud will start Coulibaly at right back who’ll look good going forward - combine him with a winger who isn’t able to help defensively and then take him off at half time to boost his confidence and replace him with the left sided centre back who’s ‘kicking’ every ball like it’s a grenade just about to explode. It worked well against Brentford. 👍🏻 -

BDCR has to start on Thursday. Get Mads to give him the ball and let him work his ‘ghost on the pitch™️’ magic.. sorry -
Play Golding on Thursday, get Mads to give him the ball and let ‘The PSR Kid™️’ work his magic..

He’s that good he can play, left, right or centrally. Just a shame he’s not had the opportunities at his home town club yet. We’ll probably get to see him for one season in the championship before he gets poached by a club that we should not be selling our best players to. A club like Palace, Brentford or dirty Leeds.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
funkyrobot replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yep get Maresca back, if just for the inverted full back and 2 number 8’s set up. Much better than the inverted right winger favoured by Cooper and now RVN. The latter set up needs a mythical super human wing back/right back hybrid and an opponent that has no left winger. Playing with an inverted right back might also discourage RVN from playing a snail paced winger like Ayew ir BDCR on the right and that has to be a good thing. -
We can still finish top of the bottom 3. With our squad and manager that would be a massive achievement. There’s always an excuse to play. Maybe one day we might score a goal or get a clean sheet. If we do then every fan should be belting ‘this is the season for us’ out! It’s a fkin stomping wah wah effects pedal infused football and specifically LCFC classic, much better than the new player selections that we are now forced to hear.
-
Any mention of music is my excuse to reiterate the club should play ‘this is the season for us’ at some point near to kick off. It’s a classic song sang by the squad back in 1974 and it’s got very easy lyrics to sing along to. Everton have got their song (albeit with that embarrassing school girl squeal) and Leeds have their old classic. We need this!

How does this team do in the Championship?
funkyrobot replied to hejammy's topic in Leicester City Forum
I actually think Ipswich might go down stronger than us. They’ll lose Delap and Phillips but not much else. They won’t be carrying too much dead weight like we will. We’ll need to reintegrate Mavididi and Fatawu back as starters and bring the kids in. Nelson, Alves, Evans, Monga etc and we might need to accept that we are playoff level at best as we rebuild. -

funkyrobot replied to Pliskin's topic in Leicester City Forum
What ever formation, he just needs to find a way to fit Elk and Buonanotte in the starting 11. Start planning for next season for when Alves will surely replace Facundo. Play players that can actually create opportunities that might result in a goal because there’s little chance of us keeping a clean sheet even if we switch to a 3-5-2 formation because we just don’t have good defenders at this level. -
Terrible VAR intervention sending off in the Bournemouth match. Never a red card. I do wonder whether the constant false narrative that Wolves pushed over the last 12 months that they were being unfairly treated by PGMOL has meant more sympathetic treatment this season. First it was the comical two match ban (delayed so it was spread over a cup match) for Cunha and now this.

I’ve stated he should be starting or getting significant game time for us. I stand by that. It’s only Leicester that doesn’t expose our young creative players to first team action. Southampton have played Dibling all season and he’s looked exceptional in a poor team. It’s not damaged his career one bit, he’s enhanced his reputation despite playing in a side equally as bad as ours. As for being toxic have you followed the fortunes of Cardiff over the last decade? He’s now getting game time at a club equally as ‘toxic’ as ours. Alves is good enough to get significant game time in this Leicester City team this season. His presence in the team would’ve been seen as entirely positive by the crowd and he has the ability and self confidence to back up that positivity. This is not a K-Mac situation, this is a player who has been oustanding at every level and always played above his age group. The fact he hasn’t been given a chance and now won’t this season is a failing of Ruud and the club.
-
Well you are wrong then. We had 48% possession of the ball yesterday. That’s pretty standard for us this season. We have a good share of the ball. We can’t score because Ruud doesn’t trust the creative players that can create and score opportunities, like Buonanotte, like Mavididi AND like Alves. There’s absolutely no reason why he can’t get the game time here other than a manager who has lost his bottle. Alves wouldn’t’ve made the situation any worse than this, what can be any worse than a record breaking 6 home losses with no goals?
-
We do also blame the players! Pretty much every player has had a thread significantly criticising their performance and many their attitude on top. Rightly so in the majority of situations. Only probably Elk and Mads are the only ones that haven’t received much of the blame yet. We are in this situation due to mismanagement at all levels, from the very Top, directors, senior management, management and the players. They all take levels of the blame.
-
Alves should be starting for us. Terrible decision to loan him out. All we have done is ensure that Cardiff will be playing against us next season.
-
The same could be said for Ndidi last night. Both players were awful.

Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!

You had me until your final sentence. Ayew definitely shouldn’t start but BDCR takes ineffectiveness to another level. -

Schlupp just had an outstanding game for Celtic away at Bayern Munich playing at left back. He would absolutely walk into this team now.
