Branthwaite is not world class mateš. He might develop to be towards that level in the future but at the moment he definitely isnāt. Nor is Tarkowski, nor is Mykolenko nor is a giant centre half in OāBrien playing as a makeshift right back (who btw pocketed BDCR.) Thereās plenty of average defenders in the PL.
-
šI wouldnāt call the Everton defence world class for a start. Plenty of average players in the PL, weāve got a squad full of them!
-
I donāt trust the people that make the decisions as over the last few years theyāve got the majority wrong tbh. Iām not sure loaning out Alves to a team in disarray that just got stuffed 7-0 is going to help his development much more than playing him for his parent club also in disarray! I guess instead of taking a punt on youth, weāll just keep playing old Jordan Ayew, dribbling backwards, falling over and giving up on tracking back.
-
Iād rather Alves got experience at the highest level possible and be ready for next year irrespective of what league we are in.
-
I donāt trust the judgement of Cooper and Iām losing all trust in RVNās judgement too. Cooper thought Skipp, BDCR, Ayew, Edouard had the quality and thatās visibly not the case. RVN sticks with some of those despite being let down by their ability and their effort! Enzo didnāt play him because we had a better squad available in The Championship than we do now (thanks Rudkin) and because he was still recovering from his knee.
-
Iād genuinely rather be relegated with Alves, playing in the first team than be relegated playing with Ayew, BDCR etc. Those two definitely arenāt going to save us, so why keep repeating this embarrassment week in and week out. Play some of the kids like Alves, like Monga.
-
But when those players are failing and no signings are being made, it makes little sense to rid ourselves of a potential game changer. As I say, Cardiff are willing to take a punt on him helping fight relegation. Weād rather not even give him a go. For me he wouldāve been in the first 11 against Man U in the cup. Itās blatantly obvious that Ayew, McAteer, BDCR arenāt going to keep us up. None have the ability to beat a man. Alves has that ability.
-
In an interview RVN stated that he sees Alves as a winger (I donāt agree) so heās competing for game time with Mavididi, Ayew, BDCR and K-Mac rather than the number 10ās. Although I think heās naturally more of a 10 Iād still rather have Alves in that option of four wingers at the expense of one of the latter 3 Iāve listed!
-
Heās not in the U21ās this year as heās with the first team squad now. Heās in the same position as the Arsenal lads, difference is Arteta often plays youth over the older players. RVN does the opposite (as did Cooper.)
-
We donāt really know because heās not getting a chance. The point is, heās not likely to be any worse than what we are playing in Ayew, BDCR, McAteer etc. For Cardiff to want him shows they must see a player that can help them stave off relegation in The Championship. Currently weāve got a classic case of players playing in a losing team showing us what we already know - that they arenāt good enough to keep us up.
-
Cardiff arenāt any better ran than us!! He shouldāve had way more game time here this season. Iām sick of seeing older players dialling it in on massive wages. We are rubbish, we might as well play some of the creative young players. Instead we send them to fkin Cardiff.

Filbert Street or the King Power Stadium
funkyrobot replied to dayday's topic in Leicester City Forum
There were when Filbert Street was as toxic and depressing as the KP is at the moment. Those of us old enough to remember the Pleat era with angry crowds at times well below 10000! When it was like that it wasnāt intimidating for anyone other than the crap players Pleat had loaned in! -
Donāt understand why with our terrible performances and lack of quality options wide we are shipping this lad out to fight for a club thatās been a basket case even more than us and one that is in a Championship relegation battle. He shouldāve had way more minutes with our lack of quality in forward positions. Iād much rather see Alves playing the inverted wing role than Ayew or BDCR. An inexperienced Alves isnāt going to do any worse than two players in decline.
-
Only problem is weāll still have Skipp, Reid, Okoli and Ayew and none of them will rip the Championship apart. All of them are too slow & way too average.
-
Skipp has been awful at Leicester, more peripheral than Winks and cost 3 times as much. Doesnāt show any more effort and hides from the ball.
-
Looking like 1 - Woyo Coulibaly - to warm the bench.
-
Only having his pants pulled down means heāll be an improvement on our defence today. 5ā4ā and you know heāll still be better in the air than 6ā6ā Vestergaard.
-
Quickest goal EVER scored at Everton, quickest goal EVER scored by an Everton player. After that utterly dominated by a reserve striker in Beto who before today had only scored 4 league goals since August 23. Youāve got to say itās right up there with the very shittest performances when you consider these stats, the importance of the game and the injuries to Everton.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid joins permanently - Official
funkyrobot replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Ayew falling over and breaking up play also stops us getting in to any rhythm or momentum. When we are losing a game heās as detrimental to our play as he is to the opponents. Another one I wouldāve hooked at half time! -

BDCR absolutely dominated by a young centre back in OāBrien playing as a full back today. Obviously out muscled but also out-paced and out-thought. For me he shouldāve been hooked at half time, -
Somehow still dining off the Grealish deal. Their wages are astronomical tho and they need European footy. Felix might help that, Disasi might not.
-
Spends half of his time on the treatment bench. Not sure why heās so in demand. He simply canāt stay fit. The next Calvert-Lewin.
-
Have you seen Disasi play? His name suits some of his decision making. Great goal in the cup last year tho. For us.

Maddison pulled out of todayās game as he was sore from the Europa match. Missed a quite lot of games for us, seems to be happening at Spurs too. His absence certainly helped us today - thanks Madders!
