perez was always in the team when we were top 4 contenders and not when we started to drop. I think he is a more influential player than some give him credit for imo.

He seems to have really slow feet meaning he dives late/slowly and then gets beaten by shots he should save. Very frustrating to watch but hopefully it's just early form and by game 38 we are singing his praises.
-
He seems really laboured when he dives to me.

Wesley Fofana - He is no more - finished - forgotten.

If we sell we need to get top top money for him. They could be potentially be buying one of the best defenders in the world and be able to play him for 14+ years! -
I think this is probably the next step in our transfer strategy. Like some of the big clubs do, develop young players and start to sell them off to fund squad/youth development. I seem to remember Tottenham doing this rather well a number of years ago as part of their growth. I just hope they put decent buy back and sell on clauses in their contracts!

I am now so excited for tomo. Hopefully a Brentford win tonight to start off and then set a marker down with a win against a wolves side I think will be pushing for Europe again this year.
-
I really like praet, think he really good at breaking the lines. Am surprised he finds himself down the pecking order but hope he stays another year and pushes for a start. We have some serious quality in our squad for sure.

Another thing I don't get, my memory is that it digital collapsed, and ultimately that is why we were in so much financial trouble? Maybe I have blue.tinted glasses!
-
I think when he got injured against Tottenham that was the defining moment in our push for the champions League. What an excellent player.
-
I was also interested in the apparent dislike of Ricardo towards him. I was surprised by that.

I think with chillwell, releasing interviews along the lines that losing to lcfc was the low point of the season (and not other things such as the manager who brought you getting sacked etc) and that the fa cup final being the biggest game of the season for you (even though you are in the champions League final!) comes across as deliberately antagonistic. It is an odd thing to say and was going to illicit a reaction from some. Why he didn't roll out the usual old lines I don't know.

Keep trying to remind myself what a wonderful position we are in and to be happy we are in and fighting for champions League. Bloody hard work at the minute though, I am mentally exhausted from the last few games! We roll on though, and hopefully when we are back in the stadium on the final game we can make a right old racket and push them over the line!

Congratulations Super_horns and look forward to playing you next season.

To be fair, any points punishment impacts the fans and the players of these clubs who have been amazing in most of this. (to the most part). There needs to be a move to write the fundamental principles of equity (one club one vote) and competition (open to everyone) as a fundamental rule of any football.

I think the idea that it is unthinkable.kicking the teams out.of the premier League, because who would buy the premier League is laughable. What is the alternative let 6 clubs decide on the rules of football to suit their own interests? By making the move they have the premier League has been damaged already. The idea we can have 6 teams call the shots over all other teams, all governing bodies, the government etc is laughable. What happens the next time they don't fancy something? Or don't agree with a rule set by UEFA, FIFA etc? It is essential they are out in their place, and although the premier League might be damaged in the short term, I believe the fundamental principles of meritocracy and fair competition will ensure it rises again. With other clubs taking the place of man u and Liverpool etc. It is absolutely essential for the sporting integrity of football these clubs are out in their place and follow the rules like the rest of the football community.

Where do you get those football.is for the fans t-shirts? I really hope we wear those. 😎

Does the European coefficient calculate over the last 5 years? If so I would not be as overtly adverse to two wild card entries as with some of the other suggestions. (Although I would prefer not to have it at all). My biggest worry with all of this is the silent creep towards accepting qualification through co-effients as a rule- because that would be abhorrent. I seem to remember a time when Peter Gartside(?) was trying to propose no relegations to and from the premiership, with his team (Bolton), therefore unable to get relegated! It seems to be the go to business idea with people who run football clubs but can't cope with the uncertainty of sport performance and instead want to develop profitable business models!

To be fair, for a second striker he really is the best we could hope for. He is not perfect, but I always feel a good run of games would do him the world of good and he doesn't seem to unsettle the team when he is not playing like slim did and Jermaine beckford.before him. He also seems to score a lot of goals in the minutes he gets, we could have a lot worse.
-
We have a lot of young players who will benefit from games like this so really pleased. 🙂
-
I am if the school of thought he is being prepared for the rigours of the premiership. I like what I see I. Terms of raw talent, and am not surprised that he has taken time to settle to a new country/league. I think the loan with an option to buy was based on understanding his fitness, robustness and mentality more than anything. I expect him to sign in the summer (any injury etc permitting) as he seems to fit into the group and has bags of potential.

I missed this! What fantastic news! (Although a month late to the party! 🤣)

The thing I don't get about drawing the lines for offside is the sleeve thing. They don't actually draw the line from the sleeve of the shirt do they? If so what happens if the wear long sleeve shirts etc?

Leo Ulloa - Interview with "La Media Inglesa"

That goal against Norwich at home, and that penalty against West ham. What a man. ❤️ -
The villa youngsters are playing very well at the minute.

We took a long time to change our playing style, however no one can argue it was for the greater good. Just hope the wolves board have spoken to Nuno and this is a plan they will have patience with as it has done us the world of good. I am all for the Leicester's, wolves and Southampton's of the world disrupting the monopoly, long may it continue.
