I think this highlights how out of touch they are with running a business within a competitive environment. They’re paying £35m for brand exposure for shops at Bangkok airport. How does that ever make sense??? Paying that money for the visit Thailand campaign I get - the more traffic through the airport the better for the retail monopoly. But £35m to promote the brand over the door of the shop is not going to result in significantly more packs of £25 dried mango being sold (in Thailand very few people know KP) It’s all about respect / reputation / being seen to be valued Thai royal family friends… and that money may be well spent to keep the monopoly going… but it’s terrible training for how to run a business in an advanced capitalist country

And then started PayPal, Tesla, Spacex etc etc. He wasn’t hard up to begin with, but he made himself a Billionaire from millionaire through talent (whether you like him is a different story). Top started as a Billionaire and risks being a Millionaire

No metric, just my own view of the matches. Stats are really useful, but don’t tell you that 5 of the best players are injured for instance. Or that the manager is using the old manager’s back room team etc etc. Yep, you saw an underfunded Burnley team play some good football and be relegated. You can also see their manager now topping the Bundesliga. They had a great manager. I’m not suggesting we aren’t underfunded or our recruitment isn’t abysmal, I’m suggesting, just like Kompany that Ruud isn’t the problem. I agree we aren’t going to spend that money - I said that most pundits think you need to spend £100m to bridge the gap when promoted… we didn’t, we’ve actually lost our best players

Progress is never made in a straight line, sometimes there are set backs. But for me the trend is of a clear improvement in performance and a style that’s beginning to become apparent. my definition of great football??? There were passages of play yesterday that had me turning to my mate in appreciation and saying how good that move was. Our play actually made me smile!!! This squad is its best 5 players worse than the one we were promoted with. Ruud is making a difference…. It’s the Board that now need to step up and at least invest so that we’re as good as the promotion side (which most pundits would say needs £100m spending to get to Prem levels)
