If we stuck to what has happened SC would be sacked, the only reason he is in a job is the hope that he improves…. Which is based upon a projection of what the future looks like. The subjective based predictions are made with our eyes and feelings combined with experience of football and history. The most objective metrics are the statistics behind the scores… we’re discussing them because they are literally the most reliable predictor available to us to predict the future.

No, they’re not in “big trouble” they are, however, not likely to continue to defy the odds, which will see them slip nearer to 6th. The stats for league position seem to be historically a better predictor at the bottom of the table than the top, so a bigger worry for us from a statistical accuracy perspective as well as the jeopardy involved.

Game of two halves that one! First half was the best 45 mins we’ve played under Cooper. Second half absolutely bang on his usual output. Credit to the back 4, particularly Faes. Ayew made life difficult for them, Fac a player. Odsonne looked like a competition winner, thank goodness he’s a loan

I’ve come to the conclusion that the only way that the board will act with any proactivity is to protect themselves. The Board Out protests need to start / gain momentum. They’ll then make Cooper the scapegoat. I just can’t see them doing anything otherwise.

Maybe they’re fighting for the club and not the manager? I think a good portion of our squad realise they’ve been either rescued / given a chance at a higher level / shown loyalty whilst injured, or for any number of other reasons feel that they owe the club or just plain want it to do well. I think the club has more in the bank than Cooper with the players

They haven’t shown any evidence of ever having a succession plan. This one really does smack of a panic move
