No. It’s “I don’t necessarily share James From London’s view on morals” and I think if we’re making judgements on players based on their perfectly legal politics / views rather than football ability then we’ve lost perspective
-
So should the club only sign players who share your exact views on the world?? Are your views on your football club more important than other people’s views?? What if someone disagrees with you?? It must be hard work having such rigid opinions and not allowing other viewpoints? And “how is it exaggeration”?? … I’ve said let’s not over react to his religious opinion it could be simply managed if the benefit of signing him outweighed the disadvantages, it’s a consideration, not the ONLY consideration … you’ve then said “ right so you agree with signing Nazis”!!! 😂
-
Exactly. I agree. Those factors are to be taken into consideration, and if he’s a brilliant footballer that maybe we manage his PR then great. If he’s a mediocre footballer then what’s the point. Thats my point - the big factor is his footballing ability, if it’s huge then factor in the “inconvenient” (there’s a better word but it escapes me) aspects as it’d be worthwhile
-
Arrrrgghhh the ridiculous exaggeration of a point until it means something entirely different… You’ve illustrated my point perfectly. It’s a matter of scale / perspective.
-
I agree there’s not much point to this signing from a football perspective, and as above the dressing room harmony perspective. They are the important criteria. I disagree with the virtue signalling / vitriolic over reaction to him refusing to wear a rainbow as he doesn’t share the same views as you or I. That’s way less of a relevant criteria to his recruitment. Being racist in a changing room 1/2 filled with black players is also very different level of offense to saying “my religion conflicts with this statement that the club / league are making and I feel the best way for me to handle this is to bow out of this particular game (I use this as an example - he may not have said exactly this!)
-
Mmmmm I think that was borderline at times. I remember most of the 6 of us that went to games together wondering what NFP saw in training that we weren’t seeing in matches for a while with the subsequent GOAT
-
Basically yes!
-
That’s my point - the relevant criteria for signing a striker isn’t his religious / moral views it’s whether he can improve the team (I’d conceded that there is a minor consideration - are his character traits going to cause dressing room friction)
-
I couldn’t give a monkey’s about his personal views / convictions, and I suspect that nor would anyone else if he bags 20 goals a season. Recruit on his football ability not on his views about sexuality
-
We deserve relegation. Sh!T like this makes my blood boil. Ayew and Broja. Pure Incompetence
-
I realise the mood is anti-Wout but my anger is again directed at the board not him. A player publicly expressing their disappointment at our transfer business is entirely welcomed by me. I absolutely agree with him, and him getting that message to the media increases the pressure on Top / Rudkin / Whelan. The club is falling apart. Player unrest being the latest symptom.
-
Absolutely. Frightening isn’t it?
-
Yeah, I agree it’s risky, especially with so little pace in the side… As per the second goal, a quick CB would have easily covered JJ’s mistake there and we wouldn’t have really noticed it
-
I dunno, that was possibly a master plan from Coops ….. Troure (I worked at Wolves so know a lot of Wolves fans and saw a fair few games myself) has a Lloyd Dyer first touch, either absolutely sublime or a throw in. He is lightning quick and strong, and very one dimensional - gets his head down and runs down the wing. The woeful part of his game is knowing when to stop and his crossing. If I were manager I wouldn’t have a full back engage him high up the pitch or in a tussle, I’d concede most of those battles and simply hold him from going inside. He’ll do the rest of the job of beating him himself!
-
Meh. Got a feeling that’s going to be the match report every week too
-
Yeah, but I can kinda forgive him that against Troure as he must be a nightmare to have a physical tussle with. The awful passing less easy to justify
-
I think that’s more to do with him passing to the opposition so regularly!

We’ve paid £8m for Palace’s Albrighton. Shrewd Jon. Shrewd -
That’s a great memory you have!!! Those were the days of me being a home and away ever present and would spend hours in the pub talking about the games both before and after - and yet I’d never remember anywhere near that level of detail!!!
-
Arghhh yes of course, you’re right! Great player, really exciting, unfortunately never the same after his leg break
-
I thought Corica was a MON signing?
-
I think they’re going to look like Man City on Monday. In fact, I can’t help thinking most sides are going to look like MCFC against us. Let’s hope that fear is proved unfounded and that our Championship quality side minus our best player / all coaching staff is better than logic suggests
-
There certainly needs to be protests / sack the board chants. I’d love to see that happening from the first minute of the season - we literally have nothing to lose
-
That’s actually really sad to read. I wonder how many other long term season ticket holders didn’t renew. Imagine someone telling you years ago that after promotion to the PL you’d be so disillusioned that you’d not renew - you’d never believe it
