I think that’s down to believing in the plan, wanting to implement your part of that system (your cog in the machine), and being delighted as a team when those individual displays add up to a collective performance…. you feel the progress you’re making and want to do it more, and the progress is compounded by the feel good factor that the manager gives you for achievement (and his disappointment that you desperately want to avoid!) We’ve seen it with MON, NFP, CR, BR, EM… players enjoying their game and the team performing. It just looks dysfunctional atm, and that’s not going to make it pleasurable for anyone!

Exactly how I feel

A couple of friendlies into Maresca’s reign and I was bouncing with the excitement of a defined plan, a pattern of play was emerging and it felt good. A few games into Rodger’s tenure and we’d improved, looked sharper and more likely to create chances. A few games into Raineri’s time and you could see the players enjoying themselves, there was a positivity and lightness to our play. Pfffft I’m really struggling to see anything positive under Cooper. It genuinely reminds me of Sunday League where the players are ok, but theres no real tactics at play.

Thanks! Yeah I know you didn’t post with that intention, I think it’s a great question, it seems that FT is following most social media though; into “are you one of us or one of them” … I despair for society on this wider point, but I digress!! Not over the top at all for me. We were relegated with a stronger side, we were promoted with a bright young manager, a plan, and a better squad. Relegation was a spectacular failure of the Board and not one thing has changed. It’s very late in the season’s preparation and we seem to be miles away from assembling a competitive force. That’s worrying for even the most level headed supporter??

This thread will quickly descend into two camps and become an argument about whether you’re a proper fan or panic merchant. Before it does… My feeling is that it’s difficult to feel positive about our great club right now. We seem to have no long term vision / plan / leadership, and take the easy low effort route all too often. To appoint the most local out of work football manager after weeks of delay seems to summarise our lacklustre business. With little early transfer activity, the players are back to training and have burnt through the friendlies without any obvious first team signing being made. We’ve only signed players in our strongest positions, have a weaker squad than we had in the league below… it’s difficult to be positive right now - expressing that will be seen as panic by some. For me it’s just another example of the grinding under-performance of our Board.

Yep! Ayew IS now our marquee signing!! Imagine even considering him 3 years ago.
-
Can anyone disagree with him?? Does anyone see any evidence of a plan?? We’re rudderless, waiting for the next wind to wash us ashore
-
Terribly sad news. Never heard a single negative word uttered about him, which in such a competitive environment is testimony to his character. Gave us such great memories, and although we didn’t personally know the gentleman, you could tell he was a proper bloke. Rest easy Shakey

This is a new low.

Therein lies the problem I guess - right now I’m craving a “my mate bumped into someone who knows X player’s mum, who reckons he’s having a medical next Tuesday”. If the system made TT any quieter it would be a bad thing now…. You’d need to believe that we’re likely to suddenly start doing loads of business or that we’d actually get rumours for it to warrant action. Seems optimistic to me!

Arghhh ok so it’s just a flag system for new posts, doesn’t affect how they’re posted / ordered etc?
-
Is there a risk of taking the fun out of Transfer Talk with all this analysis?? Surely everyone realises that we’re reading rumours, and some are more likely to happen than others??

Pros: The 3 new signings New sponsor Cons: Signing Vesty for 3 years. Resigning Wilf? That’s a matter of opinion. New sponsor Not shifted a single surplus player Awful fan comms No effort required (would have happened if the office junior was DOF): KDH sale Fatawu Signing Cooper recruited Out of ten I’d give him 5, hasn’t majorly messed up, has done nothing noteworthy

Today!!! Major upgrade to the reveal video, love it!!!

I can’t think why it’s in anyway similar?

There’s some huge over reactions going on here.

Why would a company spend £xxm on brand awareness having spent £150 on Fiverr for the brand identity??
-
It seems to be without any accompanying rumour / known plan… surely has to be us??

Last year absolutely confirmed that his best years were behind him for me. His fitness level was poor, I really hope we’re not going to resign him
-
Much like most posters I’m gutted to see our future Captain sold to cover Rudkin / Top’s mistakes. Good luck KDH, I genuinely hope your career thrives, thanks for the commitment and full effort every game. We’ll miss you. To our board and social media team; You have Rishi Sunak levels of disconnection. If only you had until Thursday in your roles.

The only logical explanation I can think of

I’ve got a feeling he may fancy Coady too

You want to watch Enzo ball watch England.

Blimey. I was deflated enough when Enzo left, a month later we appoint the easiest, cheapest, laziest, least ambitious option of the obvious candidates. If it had to be Cooper then at least do it a month ago so he can have a months head start on his workload. The club is very badly run, it’s difficult to like atm.
