  1. I’ll take a bet now that JV starts 20 league games or less in his entire new 3 year contract.
  2. Maybe. But my money is on Rudkin & Top on holiday / getting on top of their inbox before starting the search
  3. Then it’s the latest chapter of “Stupid Ideas” by JR Rudkin
  4. Argh were they? Fair enough
  5. He had the tactical nouse to appoint Carrick and McKenna his assistants
  6. Yeah I was also at that game and we spent the whole time talking about Mike Walker … MON wasn’t in the running at all. When the rumours started I remember everyone being delighted and not giving a hoot about Forest
  7. MON was an exciting appointment that almost everyone (I knew anyway) wanted, not really the same as an average uninspiring manager that may be good enough for some
  8. And that’s from someone happy with Nuno, who Wolves fans love but found the football dull!!!
  9. Unfortunately I think you’re absolutely right and we now have to recalibrate our expectations. It’s really sad, the well run club died with Khun Vichai
  10. Let’s hope he gets to use those caveats!
  11. If it’s all true, it really spotlights the incompetence (again) at Board level
  12. Why RVN?? ”So our 37 year old out of contract striker can learn off him” Sorry, but that’s the worst justification for recruiting a manager ever!
  13. I read this too and thought it was a better version of the Enzo Ricky plan… instead of relying on one full back to invert they both do (I’m assuming one at any given time). Which makes it 1/2 as predictable or 2 x harder to defend!?
  14. Hate to be a pedant, but surely progression can be literally any shape you want other than a circle. The expression “going round in circles” is a lack of progress. I hate myself. I hate being this bored waiting for news. I apologise!!!
  15. The flexibility in formation was a feature of early Rodgers and early Maresca. Both abandoned that flexibility really quickly which I find absolutely baffling. Why have a toolbox full of screwdrivers when sometimes the problem requires a hammer??
  16. We just need to find the manager that makes this happen. I now won’t accept anything less!
  17. Gary O’Neil wouldn’t leave Wolves for Leicester
  18. Just in case Rudkin is trawling for ideas (which wouldn’t surprise me, the clueless clown) this is entirely a humorous post…. DO NOT MAKE IT YOUR VISION!!
  19. Different managers see and like different things…. Enzo made the man that couldn’t get a game for Rodgers his defensive first pick. Another manager may prioritise pace ahead of passing and Nelson goes straight in over JV. That’s why I think it’s foolish to sign anyone, however cheap, until the new man is in place - give him the maximum flexibility and choice with his budget. Personally, if I was manager, and I could only have one of Vestergaard or Nelson I’d pick Nelson
  20. You realise it’ll be a different manager next season??
  21. Whatever he’s asking is going to be totally wasted if the new manager doesn’t rate him or plays a system that needs pace. It’s a ridiculous and stupid risk to sign anyone, especially JV the player that didn’t play for a year under the previous manager
  22. No players should be signed or resigned until the new manager is in place. The new manager could have a fast, ball playing centre back that’s his first name on the team sheet at his current club, that’s in half the wages of JV and desperate to continue to work with his manager. It’s typical of the board disconnect if they sign JV before a new manager
  23. I actually have a feeling we may be lining up our next manager so that it’s a dual announcement. But then it’s this kind of wishful thinking that leads to so much disappointment!!
  24. First team kit sponsor isn’t really comparable to the tea bags though is it. This will be a board level negotiation, just like severance compensation for 9 staff, the recruitment of a new first team manager, the preparation of a very hefty court case, new contracts for existing players and negotiating with new players (although you’d expect these to be left as late as poss). The bandwidth of the board is being stretched, and whatever your opinion of JR / The Board, they have a lot on their plate right now. Some decisions are always going to be affected by that workload, and Enzo leaving is bad news in this respect
  25. Negotiations with sponsor probably affected by managerial search?
