Roll on the Gary O’Neil era

What an absolutely embarrassing goal to concede
-
Hopefully we get 3 points, otherwise numerous fans will be losing patience with Cifuentes after that line up.

With 5 more goals than our 3 strikers combined

Certain things have come back into fashion this season, the Premier League and Championship is full of big physical strikers, quite a few of which offer an aerial presence. Unfortunately Ayew is about the closest we have in terms of ticking those boxes, but of course we need better. Maybe we should’ve signed Oli McBurnie after all

Kris Boyd loves to rant and rave, but fair play for sussing Brendan Rodgers out, everything he says about him is spot on. I’ve seen numerous Celtic fans stating that Rodgers has checked out, but Rodgers is just doing what he always does. He’ll have a period of success, after 2-3 years he’ll check out, blame everything on poor recruitment, mess the team up, then leave.

Could put this in a few threads, but will bang it in this one. First ten minutes of this podcast… Players underperforming Poor recruitment Issues with the sporting director Problems from top to bottom No leadership Pretty much a carbon copy of what we’ve seen at Leicester City in recent season’s. If we fail to get promoted and continue in the same manner behind the scenes, we could easily become what Norwich are going through right now.

Just gotta pray that Coventry’s goals dry up, but if they continue in this fashion, they’ll unfortunately walk the league. Haji Wright is the top scorer in the division, while Thomas-Asante and Torp have five each. They are still managing to win games, despite one of their better players in Rudoni being injured. Yes, some people hate xG, but when you have Jannik Vestergaard leading your xG statistic, you definitely have problems

Very much looking forward to watching Oli McBurnie fvck us up.

In all fairness, I think both the manager and the squad deserve equal criticism. This Championship season so far looks seriously low on quality, I think they’ll be many fanbases in this division all questioning their managers and squads this season. Somehow we’re 4th despite numerous crap halves of football, but teams like Ipswich and Southampton currently languish in mid table and have question marks too. In terms of Marti, there’s been glimpses of promise, but I think the negatives are currently outweighing the positives. From a tactical perspective, he has clearly knocked some principles on the head which made us an exciting watch against Fiorentina. We’ve hardly strung a good 90 minutes together in the league, which imo is becoming worrisome. While at numerous times so far this season, our only tactic seems to be, get the ball to our wingers and hope for the best. In terms of our squad, is it really promotion material when our depth in certain areas is so poor? It’s alright moaning about substitutions, but our central midfield depth literally consists of Soumare and Skipp, two players that the majority of our fanbase want to see the back of. While our striker options consist of Ayew, Carranza and Daka, if one of them don’t start firing, it doesn’t really scream promotion does it. Our defence also still consists of numerous players we want rid of, they can’t help but make mistakes, and giving new contracts to the likes of Vestergaard and Thomas in recent seasons just epitomises how far we’ve fallen. I said it weeks ago, but where are our goals going to come from if one of our strikers don’t start firing, we can’t rely on a Fatawu or James worldie every week. To get promotion, you’re probably looking at Fatawu or Mavididi to have a season like Crysencio Summerville did for Leeds back in 23/24, or for Ramsey or James to produce like Josh Brownhill did for Burnley last season, it’s difficult to see any of those scenarios happening. There’s a good reason why many question marks hang over us, I’m just finding it difficult to see how it gets rectified. At this moment in time, all I can see is a team who will continue to be on even par with numerous other teams jostling for a play-off spot.

Mentioned him numerous times in the summer too, but could understand the argument against that it might have been a tad early for him. But the overall job he’s done, along with the versatility he has shown in his management, if he manages to keep Pompey ticking along nicely, he’ll be getting many admirers sooner rather than later.

Your time is now Bobby…

Can always rely on this defence to fvck up at some point in a game

An encouraging 45 minutes. The central combination of Ricardo inverting, Winks, James and Ramsey showed numerous positive signs in that half.

Excellent work from Fatawu
-
Looking forward to Bobby Reid coming off the bench to bang in a 90th minute winner

First time I’ll call our ownership vile. The act of an ownership that are either dumb, don’t care about fan opinions or are desperate, could even be a mixture of all three. Gambling hasn’t affected me, but as the Foxes Trust, Foxes Pride and Union FS have pointed out with their statement, as well as numerous fans on this forum who’ve shared their stories in the past, this decision by the club is vile. There’s worse ownerships in the Championship, but Top and co are seriously cementing themselves in the top 3-5 worst ownerships in this division.
