If he somehow ends up staying, imo Marti needs to play him in the 8 role. He might keep possession well enough to play as a 6, but as we know, defensively he isn’t good enough. Mentioned it many times before, but I’ll say it again, in that title winning season at Lille, he had Benjamin Andre alongside him, not only was Andre the midfield dictator, he was also a beast defensively. Soumare needs that type of midfielder alongside him to potentially make things work, otherwise we might as well sell him.
