Nine Darter! This matchplay continues to deliver.
-
A bunch of central midfielders who would give us much needed energy and defensive nous. Honourable mentions to Pedro Bravo(Midtjylland) and Besfort Zeneli(Elfsborg) but can’t get their stats in this formula…

1 year deal, surely a club like Leicester keep him until he’s 40.

It’s exactly why you can’t play Skipp and Winks as a combo. Against the Hungarian side last week, it was Winks playing deeper, while Skipp played more higher. In this game of course it was the other way around. But Winks’s best form for us came under Enzo as a midfield dictating “6”. Skipp’s best form came for Norwich as a midfield dictating “6”. I slightly worry more about Winks in a Marti setup than I do Skipp. If you play Winks, as I pointed out in this thread after the game, you must get in an N’golo Kante type midfielder to go alongside him. This game told Marti quite a lot, one of the main things being that a Winks-Skipp combo is a big no-no.

Great night of Darts. Fair play to Gilding for his performance against Littler.

The way we’ve looked so far, I’d rather try Hamza in a central midfield role, rather than the combinations we’ve seen so far. This system and style of play imo needs midfielders who can cover ground well, make tackles and make recoveries. Ndidi is probably the best we have at this, but him potentially on his way out, we need a younger version of him imo, along with a box-to-box type “8” who is energetic and can make recoveries so we don’t get dicked on transition.

Winks and Skipp are both midfield controlling “6s”. Can’t be playing them as a combo, when they are pretty much identical players. As for Ndidi and Soumare, I’d bin both of them off. Then replace them with two athletic midfielders who can cover ground and press relentlessly.
-
This team badly needs more athleticism added to it. Can’t be playing Skipp and Winks as a combo, this team is crying out for an N’golo Kante type midfielder to go alongside one of them.

Monga the only positive in that half.

This back four combination is a bit shit.

Might be our worst collar of all time.

I wouldn’t say we need as many signings as the last time we were in the Championship, but my god, the striker and central midfield positions are in desperate need to be freshened up.
-
Team badly needs some new faces, I’m bloody bored of seeing the likes of Ndidi and Soumare in a Leicester shirt.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid joins permanently - Official

After watching our last friendly game and hearing Marti on the When you’re smiling podcast, I really don’t see how BDCR has a future at Leicester City unless Marti tries him as a 10. -
Marti Cifuentes - Style of Play, Tactics and Analysis

Think that just indicates if we can raise some funds, Striker, Attacking Midfield and Central Midfield is where the money should go. Any other signings can be ironed out with frees or loans. -
After what Marti said after the Friendly game, Nikola Stulic feeding off crosses from our wingers 🤔

I hope he goes, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Marti wants to keep him for his long range passing ability. He’ll want a couple of CB’s specifically for that tactic, and Coady throughout his Wolves career, always ranked high for long passes 😕 -
Another one of your striker targets gone, slightly surprised by the fee @Tommy Fresh
-
Plays like a midfield dictating 6, very strong in possession and ranks well for progressive passing.
-
Taisei Miyashiro, versatile player, can play as a striker, winger or central midfielder(8/10).

Won all his majors by 3 strokes or more. Scheffler is the ultimate excitement killer.

Marti Cifuentes - Style of Play, Tactics and Analysis
kingfox replied to StriderHiryu's topic in Leicester City Forum
As @StriderHiryu pointed out in his analysis, on yesterday’s evidence, Marti clearly wants at least one of his CB’s to have long range passing ability, someone able to switch play and get our wingers in 1 vs 1 scenarios. After doing some statistical digging, at QPR, both Steve Cook and Morgan Fox ranked in the top 10 for long passes per90. While they both ranked in the top 3 for long passes completed per90. Will be interesting to see who operates this role under Marti, or whether he uses both our CB’s in this manner. -
14/15 season Patrick Bamford Nowadays though, he is very much a pass.
-
To press from the front and to link play with the wingers, seems to be the main two components that Marti wants. From a statistical standpoint, I’d be going for Willem Geubbels at St Gallen.
