It's where the Skipp signing is really shown up. I thought if nothing else he could be a steady 6/10 no frills type of midfielder who can at least do the basics. He's the obvious replacement for Ndidi - and he isn't getting on? He must be terrible. It's a damning indictment for me that I'd have Soumare in my XI now because I've been 90% critical of the bloke.

It's just simply a knock on effect from the lack of good recruitment. Our forward options are a disgrace.

What's disappointed me about him is he's seemed very one-dimensional where I thought he was meant to be a bit more pragmatic. I mean it's one thing trotting out the same system every game anyway, but to go for a like for like sub yesterday of Ndidi to Winks at that period of the game. Just reeks of idealism. He is nowhere near the club's main issue but I'm very unconvinced he's the answer.

I'm not totally convinced by him but I think he's got the shortest rap sheet of our centre halves by a mile this season. Deserves a run of games for me.

And possibly a more reliable finisher.

His movement is good but he's just annoyingly lacking. Can't hold onto the ball and can't be relied on to finish.

We're still on one avoided defeat without Ndidi.

Not good is he.

The standard Old Trafford officiating display. Nothing new there. You shouldn't need VAR to see that - bordering on unprofessional. But it was coming. Once again we implode without Ndidi on the pitch. Our most key outfield player - we've avoided defeat ONCE all season without him on the pitch.

That's absolutely appalling officiating. Total cowardice.

We've been bizarrely solid. It's hard to tell if it's because of us or them. I'm genuinely amazed how bad they are, were Walsall any worse than this?

Soumare is still not very good, he's just playing in a worse team. Soumare has not played in a good team since 2021, which looks like the exception rather than the rule. If we can dupe someone else to view him in the same way the kids on Twitter do, we should be able to get good money.

I don't think he could've done worse than any of the 'care'takers we've had in the last couple of years.
