This referee is absolute toss. He’s been crap for us the few times we’ve had him this year too. Another getting fast tracked up the system despite poor refereeing.

I suppose these kids have to be ready mentally as well as technically. Both are clearly there technically. Hutchinson and his camp clearly think he’s ready, that article posted above is the latest in the last couple of months that have popped up - most likely from his agent/camp getting impatient about contracts and pathways.

Gonna have to disagree with some of the above re: Hutchinson. It’s clear he’s out grown 18s football in the same way Evans has 21s. Both need to step up.

Not sure anyone’s really said that, think we all unanimously thought he was dogbob about 2 months ago but no doubting he’s put some consistency together in that time.

Basically what he’s already playing. Seen a lot of discourse about James’ best role, the truth is he’s still playing in the same areas right now as was when he was playing “as a 10” - that inside right position, the half space as the tactics/coaches would call it these days. Very little difference between the two in our system.

I like Joseph. Hope he continues progressing and can make it here, King said in pre season how good he is at playing so many positions.

I was in the camp of the 10/8 not being his position long term - but more recently I can see it with his passing and athleticism. Worth noting he plays the same role for England too so it’s probably not a case of keeping the young lad out of the way.

Saw a post claiming he was league two level early on in the match thread, ironic as he ended up showing in that game the difference in levels. Far more intelligent than anyone else on the pitch.
