Not sure if Ipswich (or any of our rivals) will be losing players to AFCON
-
Not just the time away but the form/injuries of returning players will be a concern. Clubs will have factored this in when signing players likely to feature in AFCON. Will be interesting to see how many players will be missing from our Championship rivals.

They are even playing the 'grass' song in the new documentary trailer.

Cetainly the last quarter is the most exciting part playing the Enzo way. The opposition are often physically and psychologically worn down by then.
-
Exactly. The two best moments so far this season and hundreds/thousands missed them. Each to their own.
-
Not sure that anyone is saying that. I find it interesting why someone will go to so much effort to attend then leave with the match on a knife edge. I'm feeling the most tension at that point. Not saying they are wrong to leave early but trying to understand why some in ever greater numbers do it.

Interesting read, thanks. I'm not that dissimilar to you in that I have a 2 1/2 hour drive home by the time I reach the M1/M69 junction. Perhaps just me but after making that much effort/cost to be there I want to stay until the end. I don't believe that I could possibly save 60 minutes by leaving on 85 and missing what is often the most crucial part of the match (as much as 15 mins!). That may be because there is no way that I would park on Freeman's Common. Not surprising that you want to avoid that! I don't know if you are able to walk a bit further but it's far better to stroll past the queuing cars to one of the side roads off Welford Rd and miss that jam. Obviously not plain sailing after that but it gets you ahead of the game. The bottom line is that I will happily give up 60 mins to be able to see out the crucial final stages. How many goals or incidents would've been missed had we done so. My son and I always have a laugh after scoring a late winner or just before half time about those that left early. The guy that sits next to me left a match early a few seasons ago and missed the Slab Head equaliser against ManU. He's vowed never to do that again, and hasn't. I'd be distraught to be walking up Raw Dykes Road and hearing the stadium going crazy because we'd scored. I've never left early so don't know if I could actually save 60 mins. I really don't believe I could.

He's reverted to the form he was in at Monaco where the fans were laughing their socks off at receiving £40m for him. Perhaps Sevilla might be interested to form a dynamic midfield with Soumare.
-
He was one of the relegation rats but for that goal alone, I'm sorry to see his demise.

I'd like to see some examples of what people have gained by leaving early. Not very much, I'd wager. Are there any Foxes Talkers that can help? It does seem habitual for some with many more following believing that it's the thing to do (fomo?). I don't understand it but haven't asked anyone why they do it as I'm still engrossed in the game which is often at the most exciting stage.

And probably won't do anything next season either when we get him back.

Travel disruption - trains, planes, automobiles and parking

Freeman's Common must be one of the easiest to get into but hardest to get out of. We always walk up the hill towards Welford Road alongside the stationary cars (and, I'd guess, that many would've left the game early). Sorry, that doesn't help to answer your question. -

We were planning all sorts of options to get out of the City towards the M69/M1 junction on Saturday. In the end just opted for our normal route from Queens Road area down to Soar Valley Way and Fosse Park. Expected chaos but got through in about the normal time although still stationary traffic around Pork Pie roundabout. I think that Narborough Road was clear as well? Luckily just missed the closing of the M5 after going past the Barnsley team bus on fire! I was in West Stand, C Block and it was the worst I've ever seen whilst winning. We should've been celebrating yet another top performance and 3 points whilst we were looking to get a third or fourth goal. It was the best part of the match. Loved it but found it weird having acres of empty seats around me. I'm not sure that it is all to do with roadworks etc as so many were still sitting in cars queuing round the back of the East Stand trying to get out. Leaving early was a nil gain for them and I tried to resist feeling smug as I walked past. It's all puzzling.

Liked the acknowledgment of how useless their team was with the 'we've got the ball' chant.
-
Was it really 90/10% possession stats for the first 20 mins Don't think I've ever seen that before.

How long will that take? Must be a long walk unless you know the shortcuts. -

So this will again have a knock on effect to all routes leading towards Fosse Park and the M1/M69 junction? Is this likely to cause gridlock on Narborough Road again or is something else causing this? Gonna be home late for me tea again -
".... snapping him"?
-
Not sure if we have a dedicated thread for this but seeing as many got stuck in the gridlock for over two hours after the Preston match then it might be worth sharing info/hints and tips. I've read that Wednesday night's problem was caused by the closure of Aylestone Road? However, the BBC article states that it would be open.... "Leicester City Council said the closure would not be in operation on Wednesday night when Leicester City have a fixture at their stadium nearby." https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-leicestershire-66964323 It was also bad after the Bristol City match but it was suggested that was a knock on effect from the students moving in. Do we know if we are to expect more traffic misery tomorrow
-
Would be easy for our players to see this one as the 'easiest' out of the recent run of fixtures. That's when we can become unstuck and post another Hull type result. Hate losing the game before an international break and it's a common occurance for us.

Swings and roundabouts, they say. I don't believe it for a second.

Official Resale platform now active

That's true. Not sure if the Preston match was sold out but my tickets were snapped up the day before via the resale platform.
