  1. They initially wanted to build a new stadium in Ashton Vale, only about a couple of 100 yards away, but couldn't beat the planning system. What they have now is the best they could do on their current site with lower capacity. The away stand can't be developed due to residential houses close by but the rest of the stadium is pretty decent, although I wouldn't fancy watching from the upper deck of that massive stand on our right (perhaps better for the rugger). I didn't notice the rugby lines on the pitch like the last time we were there but it's a shame that's it's become a multi purpose stadium. The pop up bars and food stalls are brilliant outside. All that said, the atmosphere is pretty much dead like most modern and redeveloped stadiums.
  2. I fell backwards over my seat when Bobby scored
  3. As posted above, check with the folks on the buses when they arrive. They sometimes have spares.
  4. The bars outside the ground are your best bet if it gets a bit rushed. There's a dedicated away fans zone.
  5. Yes, one of which was the worst that I've ever seen him miss (and probably any other strikers that I can think of). Certainly much premature celebration in the away end when the ball breaks to him in front of a 2 thirds empty goal with keeper stranded on the other post. It was a shocking day out and one of the very worst of the Enzoball era.

  7. Lot of it about but the jab is helping, apparently. Did you get the flu(?) virus less than 2 weeks following the jab? Perhaps it wasn't as effective. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/flu-vaccine-providing-important-protection-despite-new-subclade
  8. Exactly, so why bother destroying yourself when you don't have to?
  9. Didn't the budget change that? I think it's now cost effective to have more kids. https://www.centreforsocialjustice.org.uk/newsroom/post-budget-research
  10. What are the words to his song? Dancing Queen, init?
  11. ...and a new hero and song.
  12. Was that the one when a bonfire was started under the stand using the broadsheet programs? Exciting for a teenager and didn't cross our minds how dangerous it was. Mad times.
  13. That's bloody frustrating. Turning fans away when the team needs as much support as it can get is ridiculous @Foxes_Trust I've used my allocation so can't help. Hope that you get sorted. I'm sure that Bristol City won't turn you away.
  14. It is only a matter of time before Derby's record get's beaten. I reckon Wolves might do it. Derby had 6 points at this stage. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cly0mr6n0gyo ...makes us look decent last season compared to that.
  15. No doubt the new Ashton Gate has become gentrified as it needs to cater for the ever-so-nice rugby audience. Shame. But at least the views are unrestricted and the backbreaking seats are no more. Thought they were very respectful following the helicopter crash by lighting up their stadium in blue and white. Not forgotten.
  16. Made better as Bristol City had just scored what they thought was the winner only a minute before. Players celebrating doing pile-on's, home fans going crazy in the stands doing the 'who are ya' stuff at us as we started heading for the nearest exit. Then from the restart a punt forward, flick on by big Yann and Lloyd Dyer, my lord, skanked it in the corner. One of the greatest gangway celebrations, ever. Felt like we'd won.
  17. The last time we played at Ashton Gate was a 1-0 playing Enzo ball after Vardy missed about 4 simple chances. That game was at the lowest point of the season and sucked the life out of me. That's why I have bad vibes about this game. The stadium make over has definately improved the experience with decent eating places outside. The away end is better than the shed that we used to get crammed into with restricted views and backless seats. At least we didn't get the usual racist stuff that we used to get. Kingy might give you a wave and Bobby Reid will be up for it. Not sure about the rest of the players most of which are just going through the motions, seeing their contracts out whilst collecting Premier League wages. If we play like we did in the first 45 against Derby then it might be a draw. We don't actually have a proper no. 9 so rely on goals from midfielders. If Bristol City take the lead it'll most likey be game over. We're no longer fearless and Foxes do quit despite the club motto. Can't wait
  18. When's his contract up?
  19. The Bristol City fans will be expecting him to play a blinder on Wednesday being an old boy.
  20. Not sold out, have they? Ticket Office will probably sell you one.
  21. Not going in 3 nil down by half time will make a pleasant change.
  22. Seagrave. The wrong call was made to develop the training base instead of the stadium.
  23. There seems to be a resignation among our fanbase that a points deduction is inevitable, almost deserved, when all outcomes are still possible. De Marco might succesfully argue our case again or a points deduction could be suspended. Not many know but I don't think it's the fait accompli that some think it is. Too much forelock tugging going on.
