  1. Where's this?
  2. Expect their players have been warned not to celebrate anywhere near our pitch side carers.
  3. Seems to be the same opinions as to why we shouldn't have appointed Moyes. Dyche isnt my cup of tea but I'd absolutely give him the job given our current situation. It's actually quite fortunate that's he's available.
  4. They are the second worst team in Premier League history. That said, I think the 11 point record will be beaten soon if not next season. The three going up should know they are relegated already.
  5. It's been going on since medieval times. #WarOfTheRoses
  6. Is that the Trent? Nottingham has that effect on people.
  7. Doesn't matter if we lose. Whatever happens, we are still THE WORLD FAMOUS CITY.
  8. They're only in the Premier League as they broke the financial rules. Seems that it's the only way for newly promoted clubs to survive. And before a comparison is made to us, the independant commission reported that no rules were broken in our case.
  9. Listening on the wireless and Southampton fans really getting behind their team. Imagine the reaction on here if our crowd started doing that.
  10. That thread is brilliant. 'I must not get involved, I must not get involved...' the urge is getting stronger, someone hold me back
  11. The Lost City - mentioned in travel reports but '....otherwise, unknown to mankind'. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-23976671
  12. Not far off being a local. Born at the family home at Fotheringhay
  13. They are still on a giddy high with this very recent success. See what it's like when they revert back to their natural position in the next few seasons.
  14. It's just Hollywood fiction. The Americans love it. We have the real deal in Richard III.
  15. Just let them know that it was easier to win the Euro Cup than win the FA Cup (which they didn't manage even under old red nose) back then. They love having that reality explained to them.
  16. Did he say why?
  17. Many Bristol City fans wanted him out only a couple of months ago. Boring modern day football, sounds familiar, and he's only partially swung it around during this recent end of season form (although many thought it fortunate). He had sympathy mid-way through the season due to a family bereavement. Sounded over emotional last night. I don't think he's for us. We must be more ambitious.
  18. Manning thought it was a disgrace.... However, the pundits didn't agree...
  19. Congrats to Hamza. Looks like he's going to get a massive game at Wembley and might even play in the Premier League next season, if they want him.
  20. I think this could be the time that I finally give up red meat completely. Labelling must be improved so we know of its origins and also whether it's halal or kosher (which I will not eat).
  21. The Foreign Secretary won't be happy if it's white smoke.
  22. My mother and grandparents were living on Flint Street, just off Charnwood Street, during WWII. She had stories about black out blinds, seeing flares in the sky, and having to spend hours in a cold, damp bomb shelter in the back yard. They were envious of a family up the road with a cellar that was equipped with the niceties to comfortably spend a night during raids. On one night when the Luftwaffe bombed Humberstone Road railway station, their house was hit fracturing a water main. The family drowned in the cellar. She also remembered as a 7-year old going out the next morning and seeing items such as bedsheets and clothes hanging in trees and on roofs.

I haven't been able to trace any family members that served in WWII. Parents too young, Grandparents too old. Closest is my brother-in-laws father who fought his way through Italy and a veteran of Monte Casino. Plenty of stories from my parents about Leicester getting bombed the night that Coventry was devastated. Anyone have serving family members?
  24. I bought some Portugal Laurels online to form a hedge a couple of years ago and they were very decent. At the same time I bought a couple of Mexican Orange Blossom shrubs from J Parkers which were very poor quality (almost dried out, dead twigs). Should've checked Trust Pilot before ordering as many had the same complaint as me with that company.
  25. I've been looking for a suitable small front garden tree to give a bit of kerb appeal. Settled on a Cornus kousa chinensis (Chineese Dogwood), good for pollinators and has fruit in late summer for the birds. Would've preferred to have bought one from a local garden centre but none had one in stock. Shame as I don't think they are particularly uncommon. Anyway, I've reluctantly bought one online from Gardening Express. It's not arrived yet and not sure what sort of quality it'll be. I've had mixed results buying online in the past. We'll see.
