Just reading this post and it really made me think that maybe Rishis antics may have had a overall positive effect. Hear me out... It feels to me that over the last few months the overall electorate were starting to see through the lies, were looking for someone to trust and hence why labour were climbing the polls. By doubling down and really going for it the last few weeks, and it hopefully backfiring to humiliation, I hope it may spark the start of better politics and politicians going forward. I suppose the problem with this thought process is farage and the rise of reform but it's down to labour now to do a good job to ensure they remain a protest vote for those who are more right wing and/or racist imbeciles.

Bit disappointed with that, I thought by election day he would have been wrestling alligators named rishi and kier

I was in Plymouth last week and he's got signs up everywhere, really pushing it as hard as he can to stay in. Another one on my 'hope they lose their seat' bingo card

I think the lib dems will hold labour to account on matters that actually matter rather than creating culture wars and trying to divide the country even further. The further away the torys are from power the better. I'd even like to see some grown up politics where parties work together more (it does happen but nowhere near enough) to do what's best for the people of this country. Ultimately, it looks as if labour will have such a big majority that they can do what they like. I don't think that's a bad thing but I think it's an opportunity for the politics of this country to vastly improve and learn from the shit show of the last 14 years. Put it this way, I'd much rather ed Davey and kier Starmer having a good discussion at pmqs than someone like suella up there, like a rabid dog with no teeth. It just wouldn't benefit anyone if that happened.
-
I'm hoping they'll be the official opposition after Thursday. I urge anyone who's in a seat where it's worthwhile, please vote lib dem. Imagine the scenes when the torys come 3rd

I will not be complacent that Labour are piling into a massive victory and I'll be voting labour, same as 2019, very good local labour candidate who deserved my support in 2019 even if Corbyn didn't. She's standing again, so was always likely to be labour. I bit like Alf, I actually think Starmer is going to do a good job under the circumstances. I'm alot more hopeful that if they can steady the ship and build the foundations in term 1, a second term could be a bit more radical and make more of the changes they would like to make, but know they cannot afford at the moment.

The question in last night's debate, which I don't believe farage ever actually answered, is why does his party keep attracted these people with racist views etc? There's a correlation whether you like it or not.

It's possible ric. I had a major career change a few years ago, and haven't looked back tbh. My situation was a different, I'll be honest, but my feelings were the same as you, I wanted something different. I set up a little side business which my employer were rightly not happy about when I found out. There has been other issues though, particularly with one manager and in the end they paid me off to go. Mentally this process ****ed me, I didn't wanna work for another boss again and I continued to try and set up a different new business. Confidence was shit, pressure of a young family on and a year later I'd achieved **** all and the money was gone. But... This is where I got to the point of just needing a job. In the end I got a job in retail. I started and loved it, I'd be stacking shelves and I remember just putting my head down and smashing each shift best I could. Each shift was like a personal.acheivment of doing something and doing it well, bit by bit I was rebuilding myself. Long story short, I started that job 5 years ago September, and I'm now managing my own store and looking to be moved to a larger store. I wouldn't change it, I love it and am luckily that I've had 2 bosses in particular that have really backed me and helped me achieve what I have. In that 5 years my wife and I have had a third child, she's given up work to care for the three and we downsized our house. As a bloke with pride, it was hard to give up our old house, but without my old wage we didn't have much choice. It's been tough, but again, I wouldn't change it and I'm a better person for it now. What I didn't mention earlier was my original job was working as a student advisor in a university. Jobs couldn't be more different. Again, my pride wouldn't let me look for jobs that were lower than what I was already at, I didn't feel like I could afford to take a step back. I guess my point in all of this is, it can be done, looking after you is more important than money and don't be a proud fool like I was. Yes it worked out for me but was alot harder than it should have been. Good luck

Surely this is just kicking the can down the road, hoping that psr fecks off. Coz if it doesn't surely the transfer costs are just going to keep spiralling and Chelsea won't have any more land to sell. Let's be honest though, it absolutely shows what a farce it is. Pl need to go back to the drawing board

Thought last night was completely ruined by Penny, not only annoying but constantly speaking over everyone, not letting people answer. I guess it's a sign of the times for the Torys, just flinging mud at labour with pure desperation. Even the labour enabler jibe at farage was more aimed at labour. Again I felt the other parties did well, even farage was better, even if still doesn't have any policies. Much better night from the greens in my eyes too. I do hope that the lib dems and other smaller parties do well and are able to form an almost rainbow opposition to labour, and that Labour seek to listen and work with those parties over time to fix the country for the better as I think there's a huge opportunity for a bit more joined up thinking and alot less arguing if the Tories are wiped out and reform struggle to turn their voteshare into MPs

There won't be much detail, Starmer knows they can't currently afford detail and he's made the correct decision to only promise what they can cost. I think alot will be more about culture and ethos and what they hope to achieve in the next 10 years but without knowing how much £££ there is to do that, they can't be specific about policies. He said this last night and I felt was quite clear about it but the host seemed to suggest he wasn't being honest and was being evasive which I felt was unfair. He's made it clear he's looking for growth, if he achieved that growth there will be more tax income in the coffers that will allow him to do more. But also, look at the last few years, COVID, Ukraine, Gaza, who knows what's around the corner that could effect worldwide markets and make life harder again. Starmer is not the most exciting but in my eyes the only statement he needs is 'fix the mess' because that will take time but needs to be done as the torys have broken every single part of the country. I'll be voting labour in the seat I live, but am also a big fan of the lib dem, green and plaid campaigns and would happily vote for any of these if they were a worthwhile vote in my constituency. So even if you can't get over Starmer being boring, there's still a great chance to add some diversity of views to Westminster and wipe the Tories out for good.

No worries buddy, I'll get my research done on the leaf then 👍
-
Nice, I'll let you know when I'm ready 👍 Any other EVs worth looking at in that price range or just the leaf?
-
@tom27111 looks like I may be in the market for a new car soon. Just need something to get me to work and back (about 50 miles a day). Thinking of going EV for the first time as it appears that's where the value is and literally just looking for cheap and cheerful. Any recommendations on what models to look at? I see the leaf has been mentioned further up. Appreciate any help bud, and will let you know when I'm actually looking at buying to see what you have, just waiting for a potential promotion to come through first.

Agreed, I can't see why people think potter is another level to Cooper. Much of a muchness in my eyes. Like many, I'd prefer neither of them, but Potter isn't as good as people think he is
-
For all those scoffing over people saying they would have cooper over potter. Have a look at their records at Swansea, a team they both managed, in a similar timeframe and you'll find Cooper had the better record. Potter obviously went on and built his reputation at Brighton before the doomed Chelsea gig, Cooper got forest promoted, kept them up before being sacked. Potters teams don't score goals, that's a huge concern. Coopers never really cut it in the prem, that's a concern too. Just playing devil's advocate that if you look at the stats and forget reputations, it's not as clear cut as some are making out.
-
Absolute bollocks! We won't be preparing bids on players for 15m without a manager in place. A young rough diamond for a few million highlighted by the recruitment team? Maybe but no chance we are looking at spending anything until we have a manager in place.

Are you an ostrich?

Just watched on catch up, much better format and thought it was head and shoulders above the previous debate. Penny was horrific, absolutely bombed, unhinged and kept banging on about £2k that's been outted already. Absolute madness from them. Farage is an idiot. Talked absolute nonsense, but will still get more voters on board, I can't understand how but he will. Snp did very well, and living in Wales I thought plaid came across very well too. Greens didn't quite nail it for me and I'd have much rather seen Ed Davey there for lib dems. Overall I thought Rayner did ok, got sucked in to arguing too often. Overall I think it's very easy for the smaller parties to promise the world knowing they won't need to actually do any of it and I do think Labour are being very careful not to over promise knowing the financial situation is pretty dire. I think this is being misinterpreted as saying Labour are now the conservative party. I think if they want to do a good job in power they need a pragmatic and longer term approach.
-
I'm in the same boat. I live in Swansea and he did a great job down here, more so than potter. Tarnished by forest, yes but he did an incredible job in the championship. He did struggle in the prem, but how much of that was a batshit crazy chairman signing 400 players regardless of whether they fit his playing style and expected him to keep them all happy. Good record promoting youth too. Not my first choice, but I think he'll do a good job and I'll give him a chance
-
Format was awful, ref was shite and no VAR. I learnt nothing and spent an hour feeling irritated. Agree with others that this actually turns people off politics rather than helps inform. Need to go back to a proper debate rather than this 45 seconds shite

Isn't Amani Richards supposed to be out of contract and wanting out? Surprised he's going if that's the case, possibly implies he may be staying on with a view to being loaned out.
