Hope we don't lose Mahrez, or any of the first 11 for that matter, in Jan and that we come of the transfer window immediately and measurably stronger for once.

That is the way to improve the first eleven I'm afraid, unfortunate as it may be for the incumbent player.

It's all very well throwing out names who look surplus to requirements, but for a transfer to happen you obviously need someone to buy the buggers, and then for the player to want to go. Not too many people would want to move if it means less wages I'd guess.

He's only had a couple of games so despite there seeming to be a positive impact I'll be waiting at least 10-15 games or maybe the rest of the season & a couple of transfer windows to decide whether he is the man to really take the club forwards, or whether he's just another also ran.

Don't know if anyone else noticed this but I thought it was odd that Amartey quickly left the field with the Liverpool players whilst the rest of our team and bench celebrated at length with the crowd. May have had a knock or needed a wee I suppose, but he didn't seem to be lifted by the result like the others so obviously were.

He's getting better the more game time he gets unsurprisingly. The concern I have though is that when he and Mahrez occupy the wide spots our defensive capabilities are considerably reduced and our midfield becomes too lightweight for my liking.

I had the same thought. Definitely adds some defensive steel and height in front of the CB's.
