I’m not against bringing someone like him in but this would have been on basis of as well as a Zaha and at least another striker. Totally pointless to have a hard working player to see out a game when we’ll struggle to get a shot on target let alone score. This is a signing we should be making at the end of the window to strengthen the squad but yet we find ourselves in the position of desperately needing creative players with a week left. We’ve had since end of April.

Basically anything you read from people that know him, the pro’s in the game, don’t make him out to be some kind of narcissistic sociopath. I guess if you base your opinion on questionable social media posts from randoms or a silly reaction by him to incessant trolls (some likely racist) then yes your bias may view him as a massive prima donna who has zero redeeming features. He may not be our saviour but if there is any player you could pick to possibly give us one last season of attacking prowess, he fits that bill, it’s a risk worth taking.

He was quite outspoken about how desperate we were but didn’t even sound convinced we were going to do it. I wonder if we’re reliant on moving garbage squad players on and the club are again being tight lipped about it.

It was boring by and large FFS we won the league and that’s all that mattered. The fact that manager chose to leave has nothing to do with the opinion that lots of fans had that it didn’t excite etc. What matters is the club had made the right decisions once that manager left to get us fully ready and prepared- at the moment it looks dire and with points deduction crikey. The club board have again taken the approach of things we’ll be ok with no sense or urgency or risk taken, asked the manager to play a similar style and provided no quality additions to the squad - if Enzo was still here I reckon he’d be walking soon enough. If Cooper picks a similar team then we on a hiding to nothing.
