I watched the dismissal and couldn’t work out what happened, he looked in pain.

What a shambles we are, nobody knows what’s happening, is Rowett still in charge? The lack of leadership and accountability is appalling and not communicating causes so much speculation.

I’d assumed Patel had signed for the season, if so then we can’t just get rid. As for Hull and Mike I’d expect by now that the influence of Thomas would have paid dividends and they would have tightened up their bowling by now.

Really poor losing to Sussex twice. No wins and it’s going to be a real struggle to stay up particularly with our overseas player selection. We have taken so many years to get back into the top division I think we’ve really squandered a good opportunity through poor decisions by the management.

He was a real character.

Agreed, I believe Handscomb was his own man and able to fight his corner when it comes to the decision of the toss etc whereas I’m not sure about Holland in that regard.

Pleased for him, he managed to just get back from injury in time for the World Cup.

Sussex are the ones we must beat, already we’re the only team without a win and it gives us a chance of revenge. We seem to do better away, probably because Thomas has less control over things away from home. I do believe he over thinks things. The step up is probably bigger than was expected, we steamrolled teams last year with aggressive cricket and Holland had the season of his life as in regards wicket taking. Bowling teams out cheaply is the key and I just can’t see it with our attack. Holland and Hull don’t cut it in the first division. I don’t believe our batting is particularly an issue as we bat so deep. As mentioned before it was a strange choice choosing Patel as our second overseas when we are crying out for a quick bowler.. Trevaskis could of been given an opportunity instead. When is Ahmed back?

Watched Saipan last night, really average, and Steve Coogan playing Mick McCarthy as Alan Partridge really didn’t help.

They must of thought the quick bowlers were going to be good enough for Division One hence the signing of a spin bowler even though Grace Road rarely produces anything for spin bowlers.

Probably over thinking by the coach for the decision to bowl first on a lovely sunny day. He has the final say on pitch matters etc so the buck stops with him if we lose this game.
