  1. Annual Flu jab like everyone else. There is no comparison with Flu and Covid.
  2. Shambles...
  3. Haha, FT are just like my real family. They all ignore me and think I'm a w@nker
  4. No. That's what my consultants are telling me Edit: I also have Bronchiectasis (chronic lung disease) which can cause extra complications during ICU treatments involving intubation etc. My Bronchiectasis is stable and I take a long term antibiotic to help but it is generally progressive and causes structural lung damage.
  5. The annoying thing is, I'm otherwise fit and only 57. I run a bit and played football all my life, eventually moving to 5 a side before finally stopping at age 50. Under normal circumstances I would probably have a normal length life. Covid will most likely kill me or leave me with severe disabilities at best.
  6. He's a proper gent. When I had a cancer diagnosis he found out somehow and I received, out of nowhere, a hand written letter and an invite to any home game to meet him afterwards for a drink. He followed it up a few months later with a signed photo of him, the squad and one of the birch. I also received a christmas card from him later that year. The nicest thing about all of this is that I didn't even acknowledge the first letter with him (I was too wrapped up in Cancer and my family) but he still sent the photos and Christmas card... These were hand written too, not just a couple of lines but really nice heartfelt messages.
  7. Another bonus if removing old floor is that you can get to cables and pipework and fit new, or move, electrical sockets and radiators.
  8. Why do my family avoid me on match day?
  9. Poor immune response in many double- vaccinated blood cancer patients https://www.kcl.ac.uk/news/poor-immune-response-double-vaccinated-blood-cancer-patients I'm in this group so this why I'm happy to see people being vaccinated, wearing masks and social distancing. I've had my first, second and third primary vaccination and now waiting for the booster appointment.
  10. I get the books thing, it's all I've ever bought (apart from a 1950's Silvertone semi accoustic jazz guitar for £20) and I buy far too many. All of my buys are non fiction, history, geography, wildlife, politics, birds and biographies and if I live to 120 I'll never read them all, although they're mainy reference manuals for me. I love books. I love the smell and feel of the pages and the thought that the author (in the case of my latest aquisition for £70 - living with birds by len howard ) signed it and it's been through many peoples hands since printing. EDIT: I also hate kindle type reading. I don't know why but it's probably because I'm stuck in my ways.
  11. I used to go to Gibraltar Point as a kid. This time of year is brilliant, migration fully underway with a lot of birds arriving or passing through from Scandinavia. Saw some Icelandic Whooper Swans yesterday. My Brambling usually arrive a bit later.
  12. If you want the cheapest way and the existing floor is fairly flat and level, then use ply and a flooring of your choice. As Parafox says though, removing the old stuff will give you the opportunity not only to treat the joists and check for nasties but also to add insulation if necessary. It’s a relatively easy diy job normally.
  13. I’ve done a bit for the North Wales Air Ambulance, best mate was a paramedic on the chopper for years. I also ride a motorbike and there are a lot of bikers who owe their lives to them. I normally split any money I raise between them, the RNLI (brothers on the local lifeboat) and the Lymphoma association.
  14. I once made the unfortunate mistake of reading the comments section 🙁
  15. I’m gonna say it… I bloody love Strictly
  16. I used to love visiting Hay on Wye, just bookshops and charity shops and some really nice old fashioned quaint pubs for lunch and a beer or two
  17. This x 1000
  18. Mine too arrived this morning
  19. Who remembers Bazooka Joe bubble gum? It had a slip inside the packet with these type of things. You had to include several wrappers and a cheque for 99c or something to get the goodies.
  20. Filter system?
  21. Not being facetious but check cleanliness of armpits after shower as you might need something anti-bacterial for a while.
  22. Because they're too busy keeping people out?
  23. Even better.
  24. Sounds good. What do you have with it? Salad with pasta or rice I suppose?
  25. I literally used rainwater and a J cloth last week on a hire car in France to avoid cleaning charges 😂
