Out of every club we should know that you don’t need to spend money to be successful. You need the right people, culture and off field setup. Currently I’m not convinced we have any of these in place. I’d happily see us sold to someone with less money that actually knew how to run a successful club.

I imagine every interested club is holding their nerve in relation to the fee (assuming there are any!). They'll all know we need to sell and the closer it gets to deadline day the chances of a free or very favourable loan moves in their favour. Really there’s only four things we could judge him on at this stage: - Transfers… too early to say really but we’ve moved a few on and Chaplin looks a sensible signing. - Youth… seems to be integrating them well. - Fitness… seems to be working them hard. - Squad morale… again seems positive from the noises coming out. So time is the ultimate judge for any manager but early indications point to positive.

I’m sure I’ve noticed fewer people acknowledge me when I give way when driving in recent months. The classic you pull in, they drive past, raise a hand off their wheel to thank you. It’s all very civil and an unwritten rule in my opinion. Is the world getting ruder or am I imagining it?!

There’s two big things he needs to give us; Fitness and Fight. One of them is physical the other mental. We went down last year as we lacked both in bucket loads. You’d hope on paper our squad will be good enough it’ll be adding these two ingredients on the training ground that will determine our season.
