I've lived in Manchester and worked in bookies in moss side and longsight whilst at Uni. Never an issue out and about, even in the "dodgy areas" around the Uni/where I was living. One year in Nottingham was enough. Jesus fcking christ, I did not feel safe. Neighbour robbed at knife point etc. Other issues as well. Always on edge there, something about it "an air of menace to it" sums it very well.

Lorry driver nearly wiping out a car on the a50/46 junction because he was in the wrong lane and cut across at nearly a 90 degree without any self awareness. Then nearly wiping out the same car when they realised they were in the wrong lane for the a46. Then nearly wiping me out (emergency brake) when they decided to change lane when i was alongside (very near miss). And again on a roundabout when they decided to cut across my lane. By this stage I was already prepared for his idiocy. He was literally foot down if i hit you its going to hurt, get out of my way.

I think the bus stop by Potters was the main culprit. Now thats been moved its not as bad.

Biggest selection of beers? The Ale Wagon has quite a few.

Anstey nook roundabout. Lots of near misses. Someone almost went into me last night. Coming from Stadon road. There are two lanes. The left lane is for left and straight on. The right lane is for right. There are three exits. 1) Cropston road (left) 2) To Leicester 3) Bradgate Road (right). Which lane do you need to be in to go to Leicester? Which lane do people always seem to go into?

Too many. Once I went over the diagnal white lines into the lane which comes from the M69. I did this because the car in front was doing what you had described, only difference was that they had stopped at the point of the merger and put their indicator on..... I am not hanging around on a slip road. Its dangerous. The M69 lane was empty, off I went.🤷♂️

Good reffing that. Book him for the foul, book them both for the pushing.

65mph lane 3 (by central reservation) on a semi empty M1 last night. Seriously?

I'm in a similar position to OP, used to cycle etc but I'm well out of shape for fitness, and about 2stone over where I want to be. I have been rowing 10k 2 days a week which is split into x2 5ks (a "quick" 5k and a relaxed 5 with high impact sprints at the end) with a bit on a bike inbetween. Within 4-6 weeks the difference in fitness is noticeable. I have been taking it easy, without overdoing it so I started off with just doing 5k. I've lost 9lb during that period, but I have also been combining the above by watching what I eat. I drink more water (I never drank enough), eat more fruit, cut out anything I do not need (chocolate, reduced carb intake etc). I still have the odd takeaway, chippy tea, beer etc.

Still going through lidls 10 beer oktoberfestival pack from last month. The lager last night kept its head very well and was certainly not flat. Some belters so far, the weakest must be about 5.5% as well.

This will be me tonight on the M25/M1. I will be in the empty left lane at 65/70 cruising along undertaking 20-50 vehicles.

Between gantries (gantry still needs a camera on them when they go through)

M1 yesterday. 4 lanes, two closed due to incident (smart motorway). Speed restricted. Taxi driver undertaking (speeding) in closed lanes. I hate taxi drivers. This fcker is on my dashcam. Do I......

Audi A1. In that matte grey colour you now see cars in. Roundabout 1, two lanes going around and they have no lane management/awareness of what is around them and decide to join the adjacent lane by cutting someone up and nearly causing an accident. No signalling etc. Roundabout 2, two lanes straight over only, right hand lane is right only. They were in the middle lane, clearly marked, they were at the front so could see all road markings on approach. They decide to change lanes into the right hand lane (ie poor lane management, their lane straight on and they just veered) and almost caused an accident. Again no signalling, no attempt to speed up to avoid a collision, just driving like they were the only drivers on the road. Seriously?????

Scream pub in an old cinema? Used to be a cracking little boozer around the corner from there - lass o gowrie. Sure there was another place on grosvenor srreet oppo the footage but i cant remember its name.

Merc. And I run over peasants who happen to stray into MY lane.
-
I go past them in lane 1. Sod the overtake. Do semi regular trips and coming back north on the m25 and m1 you get certain parts where lane 1 is a 70mph expressway for myself with no one in it. Does tend to be the 4 lane section but still.

Hopefully you backed something else!

Already been done #gylfi

Finally got round to having a takeaway from Thai Esarn on Hinckley Road. Recommend. Thai is now definitely up there on the short list.

Is this thread for the 23/24 season? I have voted no. Double relegation

Mercs are 2mph below. So if your speedo says 40 you are doing 38mph.

The Foxes wins the Dante. Cut from 20s to 8s for the Derby. Don't think it will see the trip out to the maximum effect (out of Churchill), and also was a bit free/unbalanced in the Dante and so I don't think Epsom will suit it.

I thought this was dependent on the police force as to whether the cameras are live at 70mph or not. I treat them as on regardless as there are no signs on the motorway which tell me as such As for slowing down I will spot them in advance (spotter cameras a few humdred yards before the gantry read the matrix and inform the camera what the limit is) and and let go of the accelerator and time it to hit the camera at about 70mph without the need for braking. Frequent runs on certain routes means I do remember where most are as well which helps.

Foxes never quit. This lot have.
