What did Thomas do? Down as "violent conduct'.
-
He needs to go. He won't. This sucks. Ugh, happy New Year folks.

Julian Carranza - returned to Feyenoord (official.)

Good for him, and good for us. Hopefully we have someone else lined up to at least replace him. Guessing that might be Antonio, much as I'm not enamoured with that option. -
A fair point. I just think he is potentially the difference between us getting relegated this season. And that would be catastrophic. If he keeps us up and continues delivering this season, he will be even more sought after in the summer, when we have time to actually recruit a proper replacement. He is with us until 2029—there's no rush to sell while he delivers value for us on the pitch at a time when we're struggling.

Probably reflective of the game itself to be honest. A relief to win, but a boring game with not a ton to talk about. We've all been stung so many times this season too in terms of seeing glimmers of light or the possibility that we've turned a corner...and then that gets quickly snuffed out again. So perhaps nobody wants to get excited, and we're all a bit jaded.

Top of my list for left backs. Wednesday are very lucky to have him for the season.
-
Absolutely this. I'm baffled why people are so willing to sell when he's our main creative asset. 7 assists and 4 goals this season I think? He is frustrating because he can be wasteful or makes poor decisions at times, and I think that's what biases people's perceptions of his play. With good coaching and a proper centre forward to play off of, he'd do so so much better. I also think people are forgetting that it's not impossible for us to get relegated still, so we need all the help we can get this season 😅.

Where did Aluko join from? I thought he had been with us the whole time.
-
I honestly think he looks faster than Daka...and that attempted pass to Ramsey early on looked pretty promising to me. Ramsey just wasn't on the same wavelength.
-
So pleased for him. I'd love him to come back here or even go to a League One side to take the step up...but he's doing great there, and what he needs is consistent game time to develop and catch up on the time he's lost to injury. Keep going Sammy. Make yourself a hero at Newport, and we'll be waiting for you to come back and smash it in good time.

Same. Had to triple check the stat, as it seemed far too low! I actually feel relieved when he heads the ball away too, unlike the rest of our CBs, who always seem to head it straight back to the opposition. Nelson seems to knock it miles further for starters.
-
What did he say? So sad that he's got injured again. Barely had a kick for us. He's got to go back I think.

All the stats are correct compared to SofaScore, bar that the second mention of ground duels won is aerial duels, so just a typo there 😅. They rated him as a 7.1, which sounds about right for tonight's performance.

What is that makes you think this? What do you think he needs/is missing? I don't dislike the guy as a person, but as a manager and coach he is regularly been found wanting for what we want/need.

Well this isn't a good look is it? Feels very Ratcliffe stripping back at Man U, does it not? -
LCFC 1-2 Watford, post match thread

Once again, JJ talks sense. I don't know about whether we were in control of the first half, but him saying that they shouldn't have been playing it around and making silly mistakes at the end of the half shows his maturity. How I wish we could keep him beyond this shitshow of a season. We don't deserve him, so we'll have to enjoy him while he's here I guess. -
Watford - Home - Boxing Day 3pm - Anyone going?

Blimey, disciplinaries have really got extreme in Leicestershire these days. -
Martí...no.
-
Embarrassing. No idea what to make of this team at all.
-
What about a loan deal? Either for a young, hungry forward with something to prove, or a player out of favour but with a solid record in the Championship (e.g. Piroë)?
-
Sure, but do you trust them to make a decision that's best for the team and club? I don't
-
I have, and we can joke all we want about "my grandma could score more goals than Postman Pat", but Ayew, Daka, and Carranza are at least players who have some modicum of match fitness (less so the latter). Antonio is also older than all of them! We've already had passengers this season, we can't afford to bring in another one while he gets up to match fitness. If he was fit, maybe I'd consider it. He can't possibly be, after that much time without a pro match.
-
Signing him wouldn't make any sense at all. Hasn't played pro football in what, a year or more? No guarantee he's an improvement on what we've got, and has no match fitness to even give him a chance to show that anyway. In his heyday, and pre-accident, it might be a decent gamble. Not now though.

£14.7m apparently. And Kasey is due to cost them up to £12m, wasn't it? No way either should have cost that much.
