  1. Think Enzo, but faster. Feels like when we pass back, we then quickly try to play forward. No baiting of the press like Enzo, really—more like breaking the lines. Balls often played forward into the channels to get Fatawu and Mavididi one-on-one. Meanwhile, full-backs (namely Thomas) coming inside and joining the attack as a sort of attacking midfielder.
  2. Fatawu has been unreal. Bilal buzzing about, connecting things. Mavididi looks fit which is fantastic to see. Been impressed with Skipp, who is snapping into everything, proper box-to-box. Mads is so good on the ball, it's genuinely calming seeing him in possession 😄 Vestergaard can get in the bin. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he barely looks like he's trying with some of those sloppy passes, or inability to win stuff In the air.
  3. With Daka our only real option up front, I really would rather he gets minutes to up his confidence... Would have loved to see Monga start again, but Mav does need minutes. Skipp and Soumaré, plus Vestergaard behind them...not loving that. Justin not being in the squad suggests he might be off? And Kristiansen has barely appeared so you'd hope he was too. Overall, we'll see how it goes, but I'd hoped this was going to be an indication of our starting 11 for next week. Now I'm hoping it's not.
  4. Yes, left footed and in that first game for Swindon this was his heat map, if that helps.
  5. This will be the third match of Fiorentina's pre-season, so they're a little behind us in terms of prep I'd imagine. So far they've beaten a Serie D and a Serie B side. As others have mentioned, they've got Forest lined up on Tuesday, then facing Man United next Saturday to finish their pre-season. Safe to say that they will rotate heavily, with maybe an entirely different 11 gone 60 minutes—similar to what we've been doing. I would expect us to field pretty much our first 11, and less rotation ahead of our opening fixture next Sunday. It being a pre-season friendly this is a given, but I wouldn't put much stock in the scoreline, whatever it ends up being. What's most important to see is defined patterns of play, organisation (especially in transition!) and signs of where the creativity will come from. The latter two are my main "watch outs"—if the signs are good there then we can feel a bit more positive going into the season.
  6. Slightly surprised he hasn't already moved to the MLS. Really hope he isn't waiting for a move to a PL side. Think he'll be left waiting a bit if he does (and it would be heartbreaking to see). I know he's younger, but I don't see why West Ham would sign Callum Wilson when Vardy is available. But perhaps Vardy is asking for much higher wages.
  7. Brentford is a great shout! Reckon he'd fit in well there.
  8. Blimey, £40m for Todibo? I really do hate the fees at the top level, that's awful. As others have said, those fees will be amortised. So West Ham should have some cash still...unless they need it to balance for PSR. Fingers crossed they can afford £25m ish for Mads.
  9. I can't believe I even started trying to talk myself 'round to the idea of Martin. Jesus, wonder how long he'll last up there? Fascinated to see him and Brendan face off.
  10. @jonny_wright did you ever hear anything more about this? Looks to be starting for Peterborough this afternoon vs Cardiff.
  11. I'm so sorry this is happening to you. It's awful. You fans (and the wider club) deserve so much better.
  12. He's very good for the Championship, so not overly keen on him leaving. However if he does we avoid losing him on a free next season, can reinvest the funds (maybe) and forces us to blood Aluko. Not 100% sure Justin works as the Wingback-cum-attacking mid Cifuentes wants to utilise anyway.
  13. Good move for him, us, and Wrexham. I'm not averse to him staying vs Vestergaard, but him looking to leave in Jan left a bit of a sour taste in the mouth after all the talk of sticking with the team etc etc.
  14. Some good points, but both Ipswich and Southampton are refreshing their squad, strengthening their respective teams. We are not. If you stand still in any race, you will fall behind—even if you started the race further ahead than the others.
  15. To be honest, they're rapidly becoming Leicester City's second team.
  16. I'm curious, what do you think made that your knee jerk reaction? If he was coming here as a starter then absolutely, but otherwise...my brain just went straight to everything else you mentioned. Perhaps I just can't bring myself to even contemplate that we'd sign him as first choice though
  17. Thanks both! That's a decent deal then. Good cover, plenty of experience, and knows Cifuentes already. You'd expect Hermansen to move on very soon then. Which is a shame, and I'm not fully convinced by Jakub yet (much as I am hoping he does brilliantly), but needs must! Would open us up to pay for a couple of players then, you'd hope.
  18. Where are people getting that it's just 1 year? Can't see anything from Fab's tweets making that clear. And you know...it's just not the Leicester way While I'm here: @Finnegan @Ric Flair should this now be updated to a Tier 1 Source, based on Fabrizio's tweet?
  19. Great to see the youth in there. Mavididi and Ricardo not starting is odd though. Must have picked up knocks? Only wish we didn't have to see a Vestergaard - Coady CB pairing, but beggars can't be choosers. Edit: Didn't see Nelson on the bench again. That's good! Hopefully gets another set of minutes then.
  20. Most of our CBs are in that squad...suggests we're playing Coady and Vestergaard against Köln then.
  21. I really hope we keep him, and he wants to use this next season as an opportunity to absolutely smash the league to bits, showing his quality. No offense to Sunderland, but he deserves better than them or Forest as his next move. Villa I could perhaps understand.
  22. I'm far from the most knowledgeable or eloquent on the subject of gambling and its issues, but I think a few folks are being ostriches, as Bige Nigel would say. Yes, many people can enjoy a flutter for a bit of fun. No damage done. Same as many folks can enjoy a drink without consequences. But both gambling and alcohol are addictive substances to a significant number of people. They have a higher propensity than most things to cause addiction, and damage—if not destroy—the lives of people and their families. Allowing our club to act as an advertising board for a gambling company is broadcasting them to not only vulnerable adults, but also our children. The latter can opt out of having said sponsor on their shirts, but not on the shirt of their favourite player. It's not about whether you've done it before, it's being conscious of how these things affect other people.
  23. Pleasantly surprised that we are looking at these three positions. Particularly a striker. I know none of this may come to fruition, but to even hear we are looking for one gives me hope. Genuinely wasn't confident the club would even think we needed one Left-sided mid must be a left-footed CM (winger doesn't make sense unless Mavididi is nailed on to leave). No6 is interesting, but is absolutely needed. Winks and/or Ndidi to move on then perhaps. These two positions imply we're looking to rebuild the midfield, which I 100% can get onboard with. We desperately need a refresh there. Was like a wet paper bag last season.
  24. Pleased for Hannah Hampton as well. Feel like there's been so much pressure and some resentment towards her not being Earps, which is obviously unfair.
  25. Lucy Bronze is a national treasure. That's how you take a pen. Chloe Kelly's was a great pen too to be honest. Interesting technique!
