  1. Confused why Skipp and Soumaré are ahead of Winks. We know that pairing doesn't work, so what is Cifuentes seeing...? Dreading Ayew up front again. Fingers crossed Page and Monga give us something to be excited about. Sad that we're reliant on two players who are collectively younger than our "starting striker" though 🫠
  2. Well, quite . Was such an oddly specific link before though, so suggests there might have been something in it. Hey, I'm mainly just clinging to the hope we are actually looking at players to bring in at this point.
  3. Sorry to bump without good news, but reports now saying we've dropped our interest, and he's now most likely to head to the Jupiler League (Belgium). https://sportwitness.co.uk/leicester-city-set-to-pass-up-on-19-year-old-after-following-him-throughout-season/
  4. Would it be a great of business if he gets sold and we replace him with someone else? Yes. Is he currently our best ball playing defender? Also yes. I am...torn on this transfer. Even if he hasn't showered himself in glory of late.
  5. Ah thanks, I've misunderstood there then. I thought BEK's book value was higher. Still not bad though!
  6. Bloody hell, it's been confirmed! Edit: I'm a bit slow, apparently 🫠
  7. It certainly would help us be tougher with negotiations with BEK, as the profit from McAteer would outweigh what we'd get for how BEK is currently being valued/allegedly bid for. It all depends on whether these sales are to reinvest in the squad or not. I'd love to believe that McAteer gets sold so we don't have to sell those two (although more open to with Justin given he's in his final year with us)...and can reinvest in at least a striker. ...but enough about my fever dreams...
  8. Sad to see him go, as he's always worked hard for us, he loves the club, and both of those aspects seem in short supply from our current squad. However, £12-14m is absolutely ludicrous. That is pure PSR profit, so if that goes straight into purchasing the striker we desperately need, it's a great deal.
  9. Oh please, don't give me hope like this
  10. Same. That felt like the green shoots of Cifuentes' style and plan poking through...but it's gone. I don't get why, it's weird. And without it, I don't think the plan works at all!
  11. His attitude the other week was daft, but so are any fans booing him, if we're honest. He's more than good enough at this level. But he needs a CB partner with some sort of pace and aerial ability to make up for when he pushes up so high. Used well, it's an asset. And hell knows we need all the assets and advantages we can get right now.
  12. Got an assist last night in a 3-2 win over Zorya Luhansk. Looks like he played as a CM rather than a CAM.
  13. Can still access the post via his Story, but the post itself isn't showing on his feed right now. I hear where he's coming from, and him saying this shows more leadership than anyone else in this squad right now. I can't fault his effort yesterday. However, by all accounts fans weren't leaving early in their droves, so not sure where he's got that from. These things are reciprocal: Players show effort on the pitch, supporters get behind them...and vice versa. Unfortunately, it feels like the fans have put in a lot more than the players for a while now. There's little credit in the bank, and thus patience.
  14. Oh I am being kind, and agree it was a brain fart. But I think the reason he felt compelled to do that was because of a lack of trust in the LCB/LB.
  15. Described as "the new Kanté", apparently. I know little to nothing about him, but cursory glances look good...and too good for us if those other teams are in with a shot We really do need a box-to-box, high energy player, which I believe he is. Curiously he hasn't played in any of Lorient's friendlies this pre-season, which might suggest he is off? Can't see that he's been injured.
  16. Absolutely. Yes, it was a mistake, but he's physically trying to do something to help the team. More than can be said for a lot of the players right now.
  17. Awful mistake in isolation, but overall think he played alright yesterday. I think he came out because he lacks confidence in his defence to deal with that ball in behind, over Thomas and Vestergaard. Neither have the pace to get back for it, so he's instinctively gone out to try and nip the problem in the bud, but made a mistake in doing so. We can't be playing Vestergaard and Thomas next to each other. It's such a significant vulnerability and Jakub is going to keep coming under pressure as a result.
  18. Agreed. He definitely Cifuentes to remind him to pass rather than shoot. That said, whenever Fatawu or Mavididi did get the ball in dangerous places, there was almost never anyone in the box or ahead of them to cross to anyway. And if they'd waited for Ayew to jog on up all 11 Preston players would have been behind the ball anyway. We desperately need a striker for our wingers to shine.
  19. Can people just not see that Small and Preston's other left sided defender just had really, really good games against Abdul today? He kept trying, but they kept bullying and fouling him. Ref just wouldn't have it. He's just got back from a big injury too, give him some slack. He's not trying to put himself in the shop window, he was just trying to get us to do something in that game, but had no support whatsoever. I think it's too early for a team to swoop in and try for him. Fingers crossed, anyway.
  20. They're well drilled, physical, and press well. They will rip us apart based on recent showings.
  21. I will say though, back-to-back defeats within your first three games is not a good way to start.
  22. I don't understand where his patterns of play have gone. We saw them start to emerge in the limited pre-season he had, but now the season has started, they've vanished. Had to pay half his own release clause to come to a club that won't back him, to train players who won't put the effort in. He's ****ed until something changes. Or, he works a hat full of miracles, pronto.
  23. I feel so bad for Monga. First goal for us and the occasion ruined by the abomination that is the rest of this team. Lower mid table (at best) awaits. But honestly, I'm starting to worry about doing a Luton.
  24. Embarrassing.
