Finnegan Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 I want to get Now TV to watch thrones legally like a good boy. But might not always be able to watch it. Anyone got now tv and any idea if there's any record or watch later on demand functionality?
Sir Fynwy Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Just pay someone with sky £5 per month to upgrade their sky go and use the app would be my advice

Anyone got now tv and any idea if there's any record or watch later on demand functionality? I think you get access to the Sky On Demand stuff so should be able to access GoT after it's aired.
Finnegan Posted 9 April 2015 Author Posted 9 April 2015 Will the latest episodes go straight on to sky od after airing?
Bettsj2 Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 Now TV is ace. The sports are good for a fiver for 24 hours. Once you've bought 10, they send you 8 free codes!
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 9 April 2015 Posted 9 April 2015 I thought Now TV was all on demand? You can watch live channels too, it's a great service if you want Sky without the contract Now TV is ace. The sports are good for a fiver for 24 hours. Once you've bought 10, they send you 8 free codes! Really?! Sweet, I must have bought about 8 or 9 day passes, look forward to getting the free ones. I thought it was £6.99 per day though?

It was a fiver at some point.

Anyone got now tv and any idea if there's any record or watch later on demand functionality? You can watch live TV as well as afterwards. I think it appears OD about 24/48 hours after the live showing, it will have a date on it that it's available until. You get loads of old shows on there as well like Sopranos, The Wire and a load of other stuff OD. Best thing to do it just buy a new box every 6 months rather than keeping it on monthly. 6 months entertainment pass with box is £35 at Argos (might be cheaper elsewhere), but they are often reduced. I picked up a few 6 month boxes for £20 each, which is much cheaper than staying on a monthly contract.
Finnegan Posted 10 April 2015 Author Posted 10 April 2015 Am I right in thinking I can just sign up for the app, pay online and play it through the xbox?
StanSP Posted 10 April 2015 Posted 10 April 2015 Now TV is ace. The sports are good for a fiver for 24 hours. Once you've bought 10, they send you 8 free codes! how long have they done this? Since 2013 I've bought more than 10 for sure and never got free ones. The only time I've got free pass is when their video stream has had problems and won't play so I've complained and they've either reimbursed the cost or let me have a free code for next time I use it.

StanSP Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 I get them every 10? Yes, I get that . I'm just wondering if it's a new thing they've done or something I've missed out on which I could contact them about.
Bayfox Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 Am I right in thinking I can just sign up for the app, pay online and play it through the xbox? yes. I use it via ps3

Tommy G Posted 14 April 2015 Posted 14 April 2015 Ques on now TV I want to ditch sky as its costing us nearly £90 a month for the lot, am I right in thinking I can keep both my sky boxes and still get all the freeview TV channels if I cancel my contract? I want the £6.99 package on now TV to get sky atlantic etc, I get BT sport for free via broadband so there is my fotball sorted for next season. Whats the best options and how do people rate now TV?
Finnegan Posted 22 April 2015 Author Posted 22 April 2015 It's like half two in the morning and I'm up with acid reflux so I'm watching some box sets on this. Trying to keep the volume low and I'm ****ing shocked it's got no subtitles. Given Netflix has got them for everything as standard and most terrestrial live channels have offered some rudimentary subtitle live support for years. How shit is that? I'm not normally some disability access warrior but that's really baffled me. Their forums have loads of posts asking how to get subtitles on and the response is just "um soz?" Bit shit.
Finnegan Posted 22 April 2015 Author Posted 22 April 2015 PS: Tommy, I otherwise rate it so far. 6.99 you get most of the box sets with just some HBO stuff like Boardwalk missing (Amazon has exclusivity I think.) I've got good internet so I don't know how much of a difference it makes but I've had almost no buffering so far (about two seconds in the first game of thrones) and the picture quality is spotless. I got it for Thrones but there's loads on it we'll watch so I'll definitely keep it after. If it wasn't for the amount of rugby on Sky Sports, I'd probably happily get by with Now TV, Netflix and free BT Sport.
