Frank to be Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Excluding the O'Neill era, name another successful period in the clubs recent history. Well if you're defining promotion and staying up as a successful period then clearly we've done that several times. We've been in the top flight for a considerable portion of our existence.
Sly Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Playing devils "dick" advocate, you could argue that Nigel Pearson performed the great escape so the sacking is harsh. Alternatively, the flip side of the coin it was him and his team that got us rock bottom of the Premier League in the first place, so should have been sacked sooner.

Sacking him sooner could not possibly have been a better idea than sticking with him and finishing 14th.

Sly Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Everything will come out in the wash. Yes, the Thailand incident didn't help but that's just one of many reported incidents before hand and from what I'm told, disagreements since. Who handles the transfer at the club?
kingpowerout Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 I'm a big fan of Pearson and truly believe the players were giving their all for him. But there comes a point in any business, whether it be a non-footballing organisation, or a football club where if a member of the staff behaves in a manner that brings the business into disrepute or shows a lack of respect for senior management then his position will be made redundant. That is why organisations have tiers with owners, board members, senior management etc. I get the impression that Pearson thought he was Leicester City and the owners cannot have that. Sad to see him go but we'll move on. Just strange timing for me.

Yes, the Thailand incident didn't help but that's just one of many reported incidents before hand and from what I'm told, disagreements since. Who handles the transfer at the club? That could be nearer to the truth. Maybe the owners were trying to impose signings onto NP which he wasn't willing to accept. I also suspect that the Owners were pushing for a a quicker route to the top which NP resisted.
Mike Oxlong Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 I cannot believe they have sacked him, without even having an replacement lined up, seems like they don't have a clue about football, it's not bloody ping pong lol I blame ping pong in Patpong
fazzyfox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 A phone call? Absolutely ridiculous. The best manager we've had this century and they didn't even have the guts to sack him face-to-face. What a horrible way for the last 4 years to end. I hear that he reversed the charges too
