Happy Fox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/sacked-leicester-manager-neil-pearson-5977659 Nigel Pearson was left ASTONISHED after being sacked as Leicester manager. He learned of his fate in a phone call with vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha on Tuesday. The chop has left Pearson stunned, after taking City up a year ago, and then helping them beat the drop with a miraculous end of season recovery. The Foxes won seven of their last nine games to dodge relegation but Srivaddhanaprabha still felt he had no choice but to fire the 51-year-old. The club released a statement which said: “It has become clear to the club that fundamental differences in perspective exist between us. “Regrettably, the club believes that the working relationship between Nigel and the board is no longer viable.” Pearson walks with a pay-off of around £1million from the Foxes’ Thai owners, and Leicester insist they do not have a replacement lined up with pre-season just around the corner. Former Carlisle, Southampton and Hull boss Pearson has already made three signings this summer, and he was busy lining up more recruits until relations turned sour this week during discussions over plans for the new season. Aiyawatt previously saved Pearson from the sack in February, when his club-chairman father Vichai lost patience with the side toiling.
EnglishOxide Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Who will want to work for them? They ushered in Sousa for Pearson. Quickly realised their error and got Sven. Quickly realised their error and got Pearson back. 'Sacked' Pearson again after the McArthur incident (which was blown over) And now have sacked him again after, truth be told, a successful first Prem season. It seems that anybody coming in is walking on egg shells. Say something which leads to negative PR or could be deemed 'dishonourable' to Thai culture and you leave yourself open to the axe. And let's be honest, being a football manager means you are prone to the odd outburst. Look at Fergie and Mourinho. Yes men don't make great managers. That is twice (three times) that Nigel has been sacked for non footballing reasons.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Seems the owners may have found a replacement they feel is a much better option to take our club forward... feel sorry for Nige did a fantastic job and will be regarded has one of our finest managers in years...
Foxymcoxy Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 I don't agree with this decision but your post is a load of crap really. They have shown far more patience than most owners. Pearson has clearly fallen out with the board we don't know exactly what has happened but I'm sure he wasn't blameless. I think they are probably very attractive owners to work for.
Bayfox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Just went down in my estimation. But I will try to reserve judgement until I see what they have up their sleeve. That said I have taken 4/1 on us going down. I hope I don't get paid out. As for your point. Money talks. Jose jumped at the chance to go back to chelski despite being ousted once before.

That particular tide has changed very quickly.
sylofox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Something really not right about this. Let him spend money then sack him.

As cruel as it sounds, I hope this is the case, just thinking of Southampton
STUHILL Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 If that is true and they have just sacked him without some big fall out over his son that has been suggested/rumoured, then that is an appalling decision, especially at this stage. I will be totally shocked if they haven't got someone lined up if that is the case. If there hasn't been a big fall out, I can't believe that Top would leave it all this time since the end of the season to sack him, without having someone lined up who he thinks can do better. Still think Pearson kicking off about his son's sacking is the more likely cause but if not, then owners are in being nobs here.
foxoffderby Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 I enjoyed everything about NP from his press interviews, Ostrich gate, his them and us mentality his player signings etc. I don't want a yes man as a manager.
David Hankey Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Despite all this furore no one man is bigger than the Club. Leicester City survived before Pearson and will certainly survive now he has gone. It was always going to happen Did folk on these boards think Pearson was going to be the manager forever?

It was always going to happen Did folk on these boards think Pearson was going to be the manager forever? Well no, but I think people thought that he wouldn't be leaving in this manner. M
foxoffderby Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 Just hope the board don't fuk up like when MON left and we got Taylor. The next boss is crucial. I was hoping for a strong mid table season next year not a relegation scrap
Mark_w Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 I thought there was a thread on here only a few days ago saying they were fantastic people and superb owners? That particular tide has changed very quickly. Well I for one have always been skeptical.
Bagworthblue Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 the article states he was astonished but doesn't quote him anywhere!!
Frank to be Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 The mirror is just filling in the gaps. As if after releasing an intentionally short statement Top got straight on the phone to a mirror journalist to give them the lowdown
Narborough_fox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 A phone call? Absolutely ridiculous. The best manager we've had this century and they didn't even have the guts to sack him face-to-face. What a horrible way for the last 4 years to end.
AjcW Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 It's a reaction article in the ****ing mirror for Christ sake!
Max Power Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 the article states he was astonished but doesn't quote him anywhere!! It actually has astonished in quotes in the headline, then no quote. Ludicrous really.
hackneyfox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 There are 103 million reasons not to be 'skeptical' and yes I know they were responsible for wasting a lot of it. Sounds like last seasons incidents and a souring of relations recently left them with little choice, perhaps there was a final, final straw yesterday.
Dan Gliballs Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 If Pearson has given them an ultimnatum why has he been SACKED? Surely if he gives them an ultimatum akin to 'You fire my son, I'm leaving', then surely the headline reads 'Pearson QUITS'? What was he going to do, thrown his toys out the pram but stay but purposefully do a bad job?

Sounds like last seasons incidents and a souring of relations recently left them with little choice, perhaps there was a final, final straw yesterday. What do you mean 'little choice'? What would've happened if they didn't? I suspect little more than a bit of animosity which would likely have died down by the start of the season. Not really the sort of situation where the phrase 'no choice' really applies IMO.
Brenfox Posted 30 June 2015 Posted 30 June 2015 I thought there was a thread on here only a few days ago saying they were fantastic people and superb owners? That particular tide has changed very quickly. If I could rep on my phone I would.
