It's quite extraordinary how often they win this because it's not like it's a case of there being one team who is just so good that they keep winning it, you've got to be of a particular quality, not too good and not too bad to qualify for this so to not only qualify that often, but win it that often? It's just weird.

Two points:

1) they used to be in it all the time before the prize for winning the EL was the Champions League due to the fact Barca and Real were too strong so they've played to their potential in that part. Also the new prize for winning the cup only came into effect last year so I would say this the first time you could say they are neither too good or too bad

2) They probably give this appearance because after every successful season, the majority of their big players get poached by the bigger clubs in the champions league, and so they have to rebuild. I would argue that this actually shows how well they are run that they can continue to lose these players (Bacca, aleix Vidal, Rakitic, Alberto Moreno, Fazio, Navas, Negredo, Medel to name a few notable players). They are almost the perfect 2nd level team underneath Atleti, Barca and Real.
